Depnds on the weapon your opponent uses. If they are DE or IG then they are perpetually fethed. If it is Nids or Daemons, then it is a fair fight. MEQ, Tau and Eldar don't have the Str 8+ weapons to spare, and if they do, then they would be more useful against Tyrants and Carnifexes.

Though Eldar and Tau can put up lots of S5-6 shots that will rip up Warriors just fine.
MEQs usually pack meltas and missiles.

Str 5-6 aren't what bothers me, and if they are firing AP1, 2, and 3 or T4, 4+ save, they arn't being used on 'Fexes and Tervigons.

Ever played against long fangs? They have plenty of S8 to spare ...

Hello Clueless.

You think he's wrong?

I think he's not very smart Charge into the heart of a Tyranid army, trying to get force weapon 6's against Bonesword/Lashwhip Warriors who will make a mess out of you and if you win you're standing in the middle of a Tyranid army. Instead of just easymode melting them with S8 dakka.

The way i see it, there's very few T4 creatures that's worth their points.
- Why? Well, because you'd get a more efficient army by putting the points elsewhere. My philosophy is a mix of T6-models and cheap, amassed units works better.

It's too easy for opponents to ID the T4 creatures. Your option here, though, may be to grant them cover, and FnP from the Tervi'es. It works wonders. But each failed +4/+4 equals dead warriors, none the less.
- Not to mention, that when these fellows reach the enemy lines, there's high probability that they've got st8+ power weapons, meaning that you'd most likely get crushed here aswell.

The Prime IC-option CAN make everything work. But i wouldn't bet on it.

As said: The cost for these guys are better placed elsewhere (i.e: another T6 model, or a good number of smaller ones). Same goes for upgrades on my big guys. Yeah, sure, the 10 pt upgrade looks good on paper. But one or two extra models looks much better on the table, IMHO!
