Hello everyone, sorry I was out of communication for yesterday and today. Finally getting a chance to sit down and get the results in a more readable format.

First, Thank you everyone for the kind words, The event filled up faster than I imagined and we ended up with more than I had allocated for room. Also, the quality of players was excellent, both from a gaming perspective and from a personal perspective. I have very little work to do answering rules questions, or settling any issues. You all made it a lot easier on me, so thank you all again!

Secondly, I want to thank, Mike Clark and Showcase comics, Chase and Derek From Battleground games, and Sam Butler and the 'Arvard 'Ard Boyz for helping me to work out issues and make sure there were enough tables for everyone to play on. This event would not have been possible without all of your help. Also, would like to Thank Grant Garvin and Temple games for helping to paint a lot of terrain for the event (and by help, I mean do most of!) Grant also managed to win the Crystal Brush competition at Templecon in addition to helping me out! Also thanks to Gil for bringing down terrain also, that rocked!

40k Results are attached to this post, with the overall standing.

For anyone curious as to why Matt Bennett won the "Runner up" award. It is because he played for all the marbles, so to speak. And I think that is worth something (and how I explained the award in the initial post here.)

With such a great showing, we will be having more awards next year, and hopefully more space to fit more tables.

Hey, keith, just curious (I'm always curious on this) can you give us an idea what the check boxes/metric for painting was?

Oh, also, looking at your score sheet, it looks like there were no "fails" on sportsmanship, which is a very good thing! Reflects my own experience...5 of the funnest games ever. That must make this one of the best sportsmanship tournaments of all time.

And yeah.....I get that "runner-up" was something of a consolation prize.....but I was consoled!

hey matt, I will post the paint rubric tomorrow.

There was one bad game vote, but that player later got a favorite opponent vote, so it all worked out well!

Is it possible to get the results in either a word doc or excel spreadsheet? My pc doesn't recognise the file extension used...

Hey Alex, it is an open office document. You should be able to convert this into your excel spreadsheet. Congrats!

The top 4 spots going to Xenos armies is good as well - there was a really good mix of armies in attendance, though oddly only one Guard.

I had a great time this year. Was a well run event. I had 5 awesome game against 5 awesome players.

Also The Ocean State Dice Devils charity tournament raised over $2600 dollars for the Rhode Island food bank. I would like to thank Keith for adding to that total with his fantasy event he held along side us. Also thanks to the Warstore, Battlegrounds, Game On, Newport Hobby house, Hooters, and a host of other vendors and business for there donantions. We are looking forward to next year to running another double event to raise more money for a great charity.

Too alex and keith G thank you for 2 great games.... I have never learned so much from two great players in getting my ass stomped . Least you two didn't leave me up on cinder blocks in my wheelchair like Ben did .

What a great tournament. Great missions, well run, great players. I'm looking forward to next year. Also, I'm new to the MA area, so if anyone knows a good place to game during the week, I'd love to hear about it.

It is true that nothing desirable is given to us for free. The only thing we can be certain about is a mundane, repetitive, and thoughtless existence. Improving our lives takes dedication and hard work, as our dreams won't simply become reality. Those who give up trying to better themselves get stuck in a state of hopelessness with no aspirations or goals. They live only in the depressing present. They blend into the crowd of people stuck in the same place and their lives slowly drain their hopes and desires. Seeing people in this situation is disheartening, but no situation is absolutely hopeless. Any situation can be changed if there is a will to change it.

I'll be waiting... I ended the weekend with two more 'trophies': Kaldor Draigo at the hands of my wraiths and Asrubdael Vect to my Overlord. Neither was as memorable as the trophy from you, however

Not sure what part of MA you are in but if your around the Plainsville area the best, cleanest and well run place that I have experienced is Battleground Games. There is a big 40k showing on Thursdays and some Saturdays.

On a side note since were talking of trophys I have to say be favorite trophy of the weekend would have to be a lovely Necron Overlord and his ride.... Lets just say they met the business of of Warprift and didnt live to tell the story!!

I had a great time. Keith ran a great event that jumped up way past even what I expected coming from last year. He raised 40k to the heights that warmachine has enjoyed at templecon.

I played my dark eldar:

Archon: huskblade, soul trap, combat drugs, ghostplate armor, haywire grenades, webway portal, clone field, phantasm grenade launcher - 210

Drahzar - 230

7 Incubi - 154

6 Harlequins - 6 kisses, 2 fusion pistols, shadowseer - 182

15 Wyches - haywire grenades, 3 shardnet/impalers, Hekatrix(agonizer, phantasm grenade launcher) - 250

15 Wyches - haywire grenades, 3 shardnet/impalers, Hekatrix(agonizer, phantasm grenade launcher) - 250

5 Warriors - 45

4 Beast Masters - 8 Kymerra, 4 Razorwing Flocks - 204

4 Beast Masters - 8 Kymerra, 4 Razorwing Flocks - 204

Talos - twin linked Heat Lance, chain flails, extra close combat weapon - 135

Talos - twin linked Heat Lance, chain flails, extra close combat weapon - 135

Played both winner Alex and second place Ben in the last two rounds.

Ive gotten through the first 4 of my battle reports so far here: http://sean-letitallburn.blogspot.com/

Toy Soldiers on Main street in Amesbury. There's a Friday night escalation league going on right now--no problem to join late--and usually a 40K night and an event one weekend a month.
