Thanks for the interest, better yet, get some of your friends to bring their 40k stuff too!
After all, you could do 3-4 WM/H events and STILL do the 40k GT. You just might not sleep much.

Yeah, one thing that we've always attempted to do with TempleCon is to never have event costs. As both myself and the co-founder have worked and attended conventions all over the country for many years, we always thought it was awful that almost every convention out there hit you with event ticket fees for each and every tournament after paying an (often massive) entrance cost. So if you actually want to do anything with that cool badge you just bought, you need to fork over even more. This often turned a $50 to $60 admission into $150 or more depending on what you planned on doing during the weekend, and that, well, sucks. The only events at the show that have additional costs are those with specific materials costs like our scotch, rum, and beer seminars, which usually consist of you taking home cool stuff from them, anyway.
We also think that having ticket fees keeps people from trying out new events or jumping into tournaments during the weekend for the hell of it. This makes it a lot more attractive to come for the entire weekend and play in several events rather than just come to a single day's tournament. TempleCon has become the largest Warmachine/Hordes event out there due to this.

Heads up!
Reservations for 40k events (and other miniatures events) have gone live! If, and only if, you are pre-registered for the convention, you can begin to build your portfolio of reserved events for the weekend. Keep in mind that this is only a very small sampling of what is planned, and more events will be going online on a regular basis for additional reservation.
Click here to check out the list of events online: http://www.templecon.org/12/index.php?option=com_dtregister&Itemid=153 You can filter by using the dropdown boxes at the top of the page.
If you haven't pre-registered yet, now is also a good time to get that taken care of. The early-bird discount ends on December 1st, so get to it now and save a few bucks on your reg.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Yes, this means the possibility for some seriously broken shenanigans, your all welcome
Rounds: Three rounds = 2 hours and 45 minutes per round. Dinner break after the first round.

Round 3: "MIMIC", "MIMIC" allows one model/unit to gain the ability to "MIMIC" any ONE enemy model/unit’s profile. The ability only functions when your model/unit is in hand to hand combat! Only non-vehicle model(s)/unit(s) may be chosen. The choices must be made prior to the start of the game, but after both sides have deployed and will last for the ENTIRE game.

No restrictions on items or PD or anything like that, it is just bring whatever you would like.
There will be some additional rules based on the charity nature of the event, which are getting finalized this week.
1) buying reroll tokens. Same as 40k
2) buying power/dispel dice. 3$ for an additional d6 power or dispel dice for a phase.
3) 5$ for loremaster (any lore) for a game.
4) 5$ Drop a STR 5 stonethrower shot on any table (roll for scatter as normal) Cannot target units in combat.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, CoolminiorNot will be in the house for their own painting competition.

Yes, both had Necrons with a good number of scarabs. Alex had 10 scarabs and two squads of 2 spyders. Monolith, ghost ark, command barge lord, another lord, and various warriors and immortals. Personally, I had some special hate for the command barge, stupid thing just wouldn't die.
Didn't play Ben, but was next to him twice...I know he had 3 groups of 3 scarabs and I think also 2 squads of spyders, could be wrong about the spyders, don't know the rest.
Btw, blackmoor, heard you on 11th company a few times....big fan.

I think it was beautifully run tournament. I also have to say even though almost everyone I played seemed to be a pretty hardcore competitor, I had the most pleasant series of games I've had in a long time, despite all the pressure.
Missions were great, and absolutely un-ambiguous in how to play them, which is actually kinda rare, I find.
Go Keith!

Templecon has gotten better and better every year and this didn't disappoint. The 40K event was excellend as well with a lot of very good players in attendance. My only regret was that I didn't get a chance on day one to wander round between games to see everything that was going on, although Ragnar and I did have lunch where the contestants for the fashion show were lining up

Really a great tournament.
One of the things that contributed really a lot to how smoothly it all ran, I think, was how clear the missions were. Everything fit on one page, and the mission sheet was also the scoresheet, so no paper shuffling. The missions were so well-written that there weren't any of those scenes of everybody running up to the TO desk at the start of a round asking the same question.
Also t a 2K tournament it's unusual not to feel rushed, but at Onslaught it felt like every round had plenty of time to finish and let the game play out as it's supposed to, so I was never tempted to try to cheese out a win because of not having enough time to play turn 6 or whatever
Even though I got knocked down to the middle tables in round 3 by my Warmonger arch-nemesis, Ken Lacey, the level of competition was strong well into the midfield.
I definitely plan to go again next year. Everybody else come too!
Many thanks to Keith for all the hard work.

I, like the others that have posted have really nothing bad to say. I had a fantastic time and had 5 really great games. Plenty of time for gaming, plenty of time for socializing and the venue left plenty of sights and sounds for in between rounds. It appears the competition was fantastic at all levels of the room. I cannot wait for next year.
Also, thanks to the Ocean State Dice Devils for running the charity doubles on Friday for the fight against hunger. On top of a large box of canned goods and food, over $2700 was raised for the RI food bank on top of a great time overall.

It certainly did feel like more than 6 to start. To be fair, I still mostly blame the command barge, feels a little like the scarabs were just mopping up the stragglers. ( I think you had several other options for killing my LR).

Amazing event. Keith and company did an excellent job running the event so well with such a large turnout. No one ever waited for any info judges where constantly available. Missions were very clear and concise. Had 5 very fun games against probably 5 of the nicest gentlemen there and met plenty of others. It was a very talented field and most codex's were well represented. I was able to learn a ton from some of the best players in the world and as always everyone I met was a total class act.
Can't wait for 2013 as theres nothing better than a GT 10 minutes from your house.
