Man, Tyranids are so awesome! I'm really glad I got into this army. I really like all the options and figuring out how they work together. Regen definitely seems good on paper, though I don't know quite how effective it really is. I guess, the more dice you roll with it, like everything else, the more success you find.

Venomthropes seem odd at first glance, but that 5+ Cover is the only cover MCs are liable to get. Unless you have some pretty crazy terrain, I don't see how you can reliably get a 4+ cover for MCs.

Not terrain, meat shields. You only need to cover 50% of their bodies. There are a few things in the 'Dex that are big enough to give cover to anything Carnifex-sized (e.g. Carnifex, Tervigon, Hive Tyrant, Tyrannofex, Harpies if you model for advantage like me). The practically relevant ones are Hive Guard, Warriors, Zoanthropes (this one's kind of dicey), and, of course, other MCs. I usually move in a big blob with shooty Warriors and Hive Guard getting cover from a gaunt screen, themselves giving cover to MCs, which give cover to more MCs. It's really slow, but it takes a lot of shooting to kill.

Here's a picture of the kind of thing I'm talking about:

I only really like Regen on Primes. In bigger games, most MCs can be gunned down in one turn if your opponent is really determined to see them dead (I find this to be true at 2000 but not 1500).
