I sold a good bit more than I bought.

My only purchase was a couple of Forgeworld figures that my wife bought me when we stopped off at the HQ back in the spring. We spent more on the food probably. How about that? I spent more on food from GW than miniatures this year. Food was good though.

I spent around $1500+ on GW models (some of that went towards OOP models through eBay and trading sites). I spent a ton more on commissioning paintwork for those models throughout the year, however.

Probably around $650 :(

I'm determined to spend less this year, although I'm feeling a growing temptation to put together 1500 worth of Inquisition which may dent my attempts somewhat.

I don't usually buy from GW - I get my stuff online from Dark Sphere and find Ebay quite useful. I usually go to GW for paints and brushes and other bits like that though.

I think I spent between $500-750, but to be honest I have no actual idea or way to verify due to the amount of projects I have going, and working on two armies for my sons, etc.

I fear it was far more then I realize.

This thread has inspired me to track my GW purchase total for the entire 2012 year in my sig, not to brag, but perhaps as fact-finding/reality check...

I will only be including actual GW/citadel/FW products, not general hobby purchases.

I spent $0 on GW products last year. I spent $300-$400 on Warmachine though (models, books, templates etc).

From a Wargaming perspective, 2011 was a good year (if you didn’t collect GW). This year I plan to focus on stuff from third party small resin companies.

I guess I've spent up to $1000 on 40K this year, what with the re-release of Necrons and starting Tyranids.

You should have kept asking for new cheese until you got a good one. Or you could have paid extra for Liquid Cheese Spray to fix the holes.

Had to vote $750-$1000 because you had no option for $1000-$1500.

I just got into the hobby last year and bought WAY too many Necrons, Space Wolves (which I'm looking to unload), about 3000 pts of WoC + modeling supplies.

2012 has started out rough too. I ordered Dreadfleet with battlefoam and am having it commission painted.

I gotta stop coming on Dakka, my wallet can't take much more of this hemorrhaging.

Last year was hard on my wallet. So many armies I collect had releases. I started this year off with a Phantom Titan on the 1st of Jan, so I guess I'm going to hit the 2k mark pretty quick this year as well. Especially if they get off their asses and release new Bretonnians.

For the whole year I probably got 3K in it.
600ish on FW for my renegade guard project
300ish for my oop WoC army
500ish for draigowing
400ish for an oop 4th ed skaven army
200ish in oop chaos dwarfs
400ish on oop 'nids
300ish in black library

I never realized I spent so much over the year until I got to this thread. Sad thing about it is, half those projects are getting sold off.
I'm going to jump on the “keeping track of GW spending" band wagon.

2011 has been a bit of an epiphany year for me. I stopped buying GW product in 2010 after yet another price rise when I finally had had enough of GW reaching into my pocket and squeezing my balls every time I walked into a store, but 2011 has been the year when my wings have spread in regard to other games, namely Brushfire, Blackwater Gulch, Carnevale and Warmachine. These games have gotten my gaming interest and budget and will continue to do so.

So my answer is £0 - the only GW items purchased have been second hand from Ebay and have only been codexes.

For 2012, I aim to not buy anything at all, Ebay/second hand or otherwise - my entire hobby budget will be for other games/systems.

Last year I bought zero new models.

Part of it was waiting for the new Sistesr codex, then afterwards it was boycotting the half-assed and lame white dwarf codex we got instead of getting the full and proper codex we deserve.

That, and I've been getting more in to the dark heresy / rogue trader / deathwatch / black crusade scene.

Using my shoddy off the top of my head conversion rates, I'd guess around $750-1000, although a lot of that was for the boys and Aura.

All I really got for myself last year was some forgeworld Ork stuff, and Imperial Guard.

I think I was in the $100-$300 region.

Was something like that, basically my 1500pt Grey Knights army, I'm in the UK, don't know the exchange rate.

1500pt Eldar [unpainted] 3-1-0 [retired]

Lots of Devlan Mud. Also other washes and some foundation paints.

All my miniature dollars are going to historicals; GW passed my personal price ceiling quite some while ago.

it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

Hmmm very good question.
Including absolutely everything from new brushes to a Titan, probably about two grand but thats € so.

Definetly will have to cut back this year though.

I spent around $3000 up until the embargo happened

Only spent a tiny amount on GW since then.

The people I play with have all put GW on hold so I have not played a game since May.

I have a big disposable income but what’s the point in buying GW products if people are bailing out of their games?

Still painting and building as I really enjoy this aspect of the hobby. Been painting models i like from other systems lately and has been fun.

I may join a club this year to game, maybe if i can be bothered breaking into a cliquey scene.

Sad the way GW is disappearing in my part of the world

I started collecting GW at the end of February...I now have about 8 armies across three game systems (thanks to a nice tax return last year, mostly), so I have spent at least 2k. I'm definitely going to be tracking that a little more closely this year.

I estimated about 1-200 bucks, though since most of my wargame acquisistion involves buying and then trading or selling figs, my actual end of year balance of funds spent on GW is a very small fraction of that.

The Breakdown.
20% figs from the FLGS used bin or FLGS auction
20% Figs from local Friends
10% 2nd edition codicies from TMP just for the fluff
50% Used buys or trades from Dakka, TMP and Bartertown.

Almost all this stuff was RT and 2nd edition figs for an expansion to my Blood Angels that I'll get around to someday, though I did get a few vintage fantasy figs and some necromunda stuff.

I probably "spent" a few times as much in non-GW gaming.

I grabbed two things for my D+D campaign -- Arachnarok and a goblin warboss on spider.

I also got St. Celestine; I've always liked the figure and wasn't sure what would happen with her down the road, so went ahead and grabbed the sculpt.

Finally, got a pot of liquid green stuff, just to see what it was like.
