Great color choices! Coupd you take ranged pics, as if you were on an actual game table and you were a player? I think with your painting method it will be great pictures!

The paint scheme is awesome! i like the purple colors, they go well with the earth green, also i like the pictures it makes them look in character. It would be sweet to see you paint some of the new tau models like the riptide.

I don't know if anything like this has been suggested yet, as I've just skim-read through the thread (obviously hunting for photos ) but I think that tiger-stripe camo on some of the units (maybe Pathfinders and/or Stealthsuits?) would look awesome.

@ProfessionalAmateur: Yeah although I think that would look awesome too, one of the things I wanted to do was stay away from actual camo.

Great work, really loving the contrasting purple details. I think calling this an "attempt" suggests you aren't nearly as confident about your painting skills as you should be,

Seriously, though, I like this very much. It is a bit more "military" than "boisterous" that sometimes happens when people paint up their armies. The Tau need a more camo-esque paint scheme, and I think you've done a fantastic job.

I can't get my Riptide until next week, hopefully, (thanks GW) but gives me time to get this squared away.

Ok guys, I did this color modification mock-up because I was thinking about changing the colors. I think I'm going to stick with the original, but if a few of you guys wouldn't mind I'd like to hear a few outside opinions.

Yeah most likely, will just be a slightly different shade depending on what green you start with, since I tried to leave the darker color showing through as the shading.

Looking at the three schemes closer, I think that the Purple works better because if you're going to have Blue tau skin, then having blue highlights on the weapons and helmet glass seems a bit....off. I dunno how else to explain it. But I think the purple compliments better when you factor in blue skin on Tau
