Careful playing these guys on a forest/swamp table - the camo scheme is so effective, you might end up losing them in the scenery!

@ Solo: I use Army painter army green primer, then a devlan mud wash, then blend the green with a 1.1 mix of GW Catachan green and Rotting Flesh, with some final highlights with pure rotting. Brown is Graveyard earth washed with devlan mud and re highlighted with graveyard. Purples are Liche purple blend up to almost white, the greens same with Scorpion.

Tried to keep it a simple yet effective scheme since I only had 3 days to paint both units from scratch.

Really excellent, though I always say that crisis suits need remodeling. The jet colors really blend well

Love the glow effect on the shields and the flare on the purple lenses, but it feels wierd to see an optic coloration on the missle tips.

Love the color scheme and the basing adds alot.

I could picture that army in an epic fight with Catachans on a jungle world.

Definatley my favorite Tau also. They look like they could drop in and support some catachan jungle fighters any day.

Ok guys, been a while, but with the new Tau coming out it's time for me to continue my army, but I'm going to be changing the colors of the energy areas (green glow) to the standard Tau codex blue. I'm also going to change the purple as I'm just not feeling it anymore. I'm leaning towards glowing red for the actual lenses and changing the missile tips to a flat color, but not sure what. Any suggestions?

Love the color scheme, you accomplished your "attempt" with a pure win. The only thing quirky IMO is your FW have greens and browns, while the crisis suits have only green. Petty I know, amazing work regardless of my opinion of colors
