No worries I am chaos to my core I got my hands on a nice batch of sisters of battle and want to paint them, my ultimate goal is to raise these lambs for slaughter so I can lure my gf into the warhammer and have a army to fine tune my chaos and try different things.
Upside is it still counts as quality time so everybody wins

The vader moment made me lol thanks alot

Update::
i like keeping this P&M blog, helps me keep track of stuff.. well on with the show!
My new army has taken much of my focus, it being a full army and my 'passion project' which is chaos being a slow burn of things seemingly falling together. so with that ill like to show the progress iv managed with the time iv had available.
sisters of battle being all metal is a pain so if i could get any tips on handling metal models id appreciate it!

First off is my first HQ the Canoness~

saw alot of pictures of her with white armor but i hate to much white on models so i tried for a 'bone armor' look. im thinking of doing my 2nd canoness the same way with a few alterations.

Here are Sister Dialogus and Sister Hospitaller

my first attempt at writing on scrolls and what not. did it come out alright?
since neither can be used without a Canoness i made hospitaller match her in armor in the same 'bone' color

my first Penitent Engine!
i was scared i would screw this one up. btw i didnt notice how dust the base was until i took pics i apologize.

tried to make the saws look 'used' its my first time painting something like this so feedback is appreciated.

oh here is a small sample of what my army will look like.
silver armor, black wash but with red robes. this model is not finished yet and needs touch ups.

For what it is worth, I think there is way too much blood on the saw blade. "Less is more" absolutely applies to blood effects. Try a dab of Red Gore on a very stiff paintbrush and 'flick' the bristles by pulling them away from the model and release by themselves as you pull your finger across. Tiny little blood spatter marks. Works well on armor, vehicles, chain swords, etc.

And yes, I'm still following your blog. I strongly dislike Psychotic Space Nuns but I really enjoy your work. I hope whatever went so wrong in your life that you felt you had to turn to this project gets better for you very soon.

haha dont worry Skalk true to my word i have not turned my back on the gods of chaos! i bring fresh recruits into the ranks in fact!
oh btw as in the advice with the blood, i tried the flicking on the back of a canoness's cape just to see and i like it. the next one of those i have ill try it that way other than the butcher shop job i did on the first one lol.

a friend of mine hearing my lack of basic bolter+CCW raptors decided to give me a early christmas gift of a box of jump troops. taking this i used whatever chaos bits i could find and attempt to whip me up some raptors!

i just finished putting them together and there is still alot to be done to them.. that is if i dont get lazy and just paint them after a few touch ups lol.
and yes im trying to base them with rocks. first time really using this green putty and attempting to pin non metal models.

~Make-Shift Raptors

thats what i have so far. hopefully before the weekends threw ill have done something with them.

Got your PM

Raptors look great! I struggeld w/ the idea of Fast Attack w/ Plague Marines before I started mine, but I got over it. Hopefully they will be a bit more effective in 6th than they were in 5th. At any rate they are cool models.

Glad to hear the blood spatter effect might work out for you. Looking forward to seeing whatever pics come up!

hummm minor stuff to show ( much like the majority of my posts >>>self burn!))

well along we go..
sisters of battle~
my 2nd canoness HQ.

needs some touch ups(now that i see the magnified pictures of it).. my 3rd canoness has a combi-flamer so yay!

Heavy Bolter

i wish to the chaos gods i knew why the cloth came out that way. i used blood red and gore and tend to mix them for fun but still dont know why it has that blotchy look. reminds me of red camo. i like it lol. (just noticed im running out of flesh tone, must experiment with the cheap paints i think)

++++
now some CSM
mostly i just added some more bits as i planned and officially put them to a base!
curious as to how they look.

jump and shoot 'Chow yun fat' raptor

jumping back Raptor and perched Raptor.

Traitor wolf Raptors. one is odd and the other seems to take charge.
the skulls and chains fell off a rhino so i just put them on him.. thinking of making it like skin+gore fused to the sides of the jumpack.

wont bother putting up primer pics of them just finished painted models. dont want to dwell on them if im not making changes.

Hmm. Some of those poses (w/o explanation) look a bit off. The 'Chow Yun Fat' gave it a different perspective, but my initial reaction was 'drunk and stumbling', like his jump pack is way too heavy and his stabilizers aren't enough to keep him from falling over. Same goes for the "jumping back". I'd have titled it "falling backwards".

Please understand I'm not making fun, text is a poor form of communication sometimes.

I know the challenge of "dynamic poses" w/ Raptors. I started some for my Death Guard Plague Marines (see 1/4 down page) and it wasn't an easy process to make them look like they were "moving" and "in action".

Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

No problem, I'm not gonna take anything you say any sort of way, honestly It looked better until I actually had to base them lol. But which ones do you think need the most help? I can try and shift it around and such and make it look like their a little less drunk.

The models themselves look really good. Solid builds, good kit, and interesting conversions. What you are looking for in each model's pose is "motion" with the Raptors are assaulting forward. With that in mind, I'd recommend the following:

Stand model up more straight so it doesn't look so haphazard, also lean a bit forward. Looks good otherwise, very action-orientated.

Model on left should come forward more. Try changing stance from landing on left foot to landing on right foot, this simple change will likely give that "forward motion" look and address the unstable landing it looks like now.

Model on right could raise the Bolt Pistol to look like he's targeting something. The stance on the base looks good.

Model on the left could use the same process as model on left above- switch the foot he's landing on and you'll see the result you are looking for. Model on the right looks good.

Hope this is what you were looking for and helps out!

ok Skalk lets see if i corrected this problemo yet. i did what i could do with the time i had and the added frustration of gluing my fingers together and getting green stuff in places it had no right going.

'touching down' pistol action, falling back/retreating fire.. or 'doesnt know how to drive this crazy thing'

thoughts?

also working on a Exorcist tank but damn it looks ugly when i take pics of it lol. starting to get self-conscious

introducing Abbodon the Despoiler!

my conversion seemingly on hold forever [now iv started/done the real despoiler ill probably finish my stand in] i got my hands on the actual model and on a whim just dedicated a little over a hour to painting it. sooo here he is.

(front/back)

(side/side)

(close up/Sword)

used bronze, black and gore red keeping to my chaos color scheme while keeping him still to his black legion look.
Thoughts? =

I am jealous of your Logan model! I've been wanting to pick one up and convert it into a Khorne Chaos Lord for the longest time! I'm starting to re-think my World Eaters and give them the same love my Death Guard rec'd for a year. Waiting on the new Codex before I start hacking / chopping stuff up. Magnetization is going to be a HUGE change in my modeling as I learned a lesson when doing DG- having 100+ Plague Marines is cool but completely ridiculous unless I'm planning on playing APOC.

Stuff is looking ace, excellent work.

Oh a Logan convert to a khorne lord is a great idea, I'd love to see you pull that off, now I have something else to hopefully look forward to when the next CSM codex comes out.
Wow that's alot of plague marines man! Im jealous of that that's a feat in my eyes. Have you ever played apoc with those numbers? Must of been insane if you did.

Magnets are not by friends, I need to find s tutorial as I almost destroyed my predator tank trying to mount the side laz on magnets. I think I even lost a magnet after hours of work under my table in my last residence and just Retired the idea and glued them on. Never again lol.(maybe)

The difference in power weapons (sword/axe/maul) is making me think of magnets again so my number of terminators and chosen don't need to burn my wallet in sacrifice to chaos. Never mind death guard XD it makes my bank account scream just thinking about it.

Edit:: btw thanks for the approval of my work , I try and it's awesome to get your praise!

If I find a metal LG I'll snap him up and make him the most brutal-looking dedicant to Khorne I possibly can. Until then I'll remain Logan-less becasue there's no way I'm spending that kind of money for a Finecast model. It'll happen eventually.

I've never had the chance to field all of my Plague Marines on the same table at once. I would like to see that happen someday, if I'm lucky it'll be this summer.

I searched Youtube for magnetization videos and I couldn't find one where they were actually showing the process (meaning what drill to use, how to use it, etc). So I'd recommend using bits of sprue to practice on and make your mistakes on something that doesn't matter. The magnets will be easily recovered even if you glue them in.

You are doing good work here. Everyone starts somewhere, and you're doing well w/ your progress.

some updates yay!
i spent some time crafting my little angry chaos men tanks to make beating in faces alot easier.
got tired of my warband being called 'iron warriors' or even worse 'nameroths chosen' after the CSM in the recent 360/PS3 Space Marines game due to similar paint scheme.. soo i found a emblem to place upon them.

this is my 'Khorne " tank most likely to carry my berserkers in.
[sides]

[hit and run]

[front & Gunner]

[Back & Khorne 'Gore' Symbol]

see there is some blood for the blood god AND a skull for the skull throne in that mess.

Sister!
i have painted a Exorcist tank and am now trying to fix a mistake i made on the freehand i did on it. in the mean time i realized my lack of money and tanks.. sooo.. i Swiss Army knifed one. This one acts as a Exorcist and Rhino for my SOB and as a basic Rhino for my CSM.

Exorcist =

remove the missles and its a sisters rhino.
or....
replace it all together with my 'emblem' doors and its a nice addition to my CSM rhinos

here is a nice shot of all three of my Rhinos lined up.

here is a little show of my sisters color scheme.

thats all i have for today! running low on paint and time heres hoping i can keep on keeping on.

Dude, this is the most awesome thing I've seen you do yet, 100% original (I've never seen it before anyway) and if I ever decide to do my own version of that idea, you'll get full credit for inspiration:

Wow man. That's really well done. Seriously, I could go on and on about it. I like the weathering effects and blood spatter you've done as well, but that icon... yeah, that's 100%

curious if they look alright and if the paint scheme works.

here is my exorcist

humm after talking these pics i noticed all the green marks and unpainted crevices in the green stuff i had to use to get the organ level on the back of the exorcist. id did the touch ups. my free hand on the ' ' looks much better in person lol. i was later informed its not the proper insignia for the sisters so my next one will most likely be different.

I was planning some Exorcists for my Sisters are they a lot of hassle to put together?

I notice the FW ones are a lot cheaper and probably easier but I prefer the look of the GW ones.

The FW ones are a lot easier it's just replacing the top hatch and door and assembling a couple of parts for the missle launcher much like putting together a twin link bolter. The GW one is metal and can be a bit tricky. I have two GW models and unlike my friends they just didn't fit right and when I managed to get one to it was lopsided. So I had to cut off a piece of a sprue file it down a bit and place it under the organ on one side then use green putty to fill in the gaps. The organ due to it's weight was my most trouble. The side panels are just a matter of fitting them on correctly so no real issue there. I'd say the GW one is worth it.

One note though- drill your barrels! If I didn't say it someone else will. It give the model a more completed look.

That's very good work. It's one of your cleaner pieces and the attention to specific detail is well done. What's the chance of a 'group shot' to show total progress so far?

got my grubby little hands on the limited edition Dark Vengeance box set and burnt myself out on my 3rd day without sleep just painting.
so far only got to trying my hand at two models. Chaos Lord Kranon the Relentless and Mortis Metalikus aka Hellbrute

Chaos Lord Kranon

Hellbrute

the Hellbrute looks better in person. i think perhaps its the lighting. maybe its just me.
iv gotten to calling it 'FleshBrute'

thinking of using the Dark Angel pieces to use with my sister of battle as allies. maybe pick up space marines from the black reach set to fill in more gaps and add options. not really interested in painting them atm to be honest.

ill try to get the stuff together and take one big pic of whats done. i finished the last couple of berserkers but left them to get a black wash from my gf.. they look like chimney sweeps i got some of it to tone down but ...it is what it is at this point lol
