The original DoW2 involved fighting off Orks, then Tyranids appaer. Then CR involves a Chaos infestation (duh, given the name). Then Retribution involves the chapter master going apegak, which can be played from any number of perspectives, but I would imagine a definite win by guard and astartes and at least a moderate win by the orks and eldar.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Ive always like the facts that we have been allowed to pick and choose what games are and are not canon. Having never played Fire Warrior it is kind of hard for me to acknowledge it but having loved the DoWs and Space Marine I of course want them to be canon. Though I like to retell the story and ignore certain facts, ie. Its not that hard for me to argue that the IG won Winter Assault and I can actually pretend the IG won Dark Crusade if I interept some of the sayings a certain way and ignore like a line or 2.

Like wise I like to pretend that Space Marine simply occured AFTER the current timeline, like early M42 after either one of the 2 captains died or Marneus Calgar died leaving the other captains to change positions to fullfill the space. This would leave Titus in position to be the next 2nd Company Captain. *shurgs* It works or me.

We don't get to pick and choose what games are canon...GW does. I'm pretty sure that some of the events in the DoW series (I say "some" because many of the campaign outcomes are mutually exclusive). Captain Titus has been/will be adopted by GW. I'm pretty sure about that. Also. there have been DoW novels published by Black Library (however their canonicity is disputable mainly because of CS Goto's writing...multilasers anyone?)

Again, that's not what the people actually working with GW have said.
The studio regards "canon" as a non-issue. Everyone has his or her own interpretation of the setting, this includes game developers and novel writers just as it does the average reader and gamer and even the studio itself. They discard or adopt "oursourced" ideas "into the worldview as presented by their army books and codices", as Gav said, but that's about it. When Relic's writers and BL authors have this much artistic freedom that they can disregard Codex fluff, so could you. Or you could roll with it and disregard the conflicting info put forth by some games or novels. Or do a mix of both. It's up to you.

I did not intend to get it past the filter. It's been edited to apegak.

It probably just didn't censor it because it was a compound word and not just the word gak by itself. Like Shitake Mushrooms isn't censored just cause it has those four letters.
