I liked #8 as well...

Also toyed with the idea of making a rocket launcher variant...
However my buddy told me that I should limit myself to one for my army so that I don't end up confusing people trying to keep track of variants...

So I thought that #6 was best...

What is your favorite on the sheet?

in practical terms, i feel that the shape of 6 would have worked best if it was real, compared to 8, witch i just think looks cool.. and i say, rocket varient wont be bad, but just keep the same body

Maybe a blend between 6 and 8 would be cool...

They're already rather close so it wouldn't take to much to make something that possessed the qualities of them both.

And I do agree that whatever body that I end up making would just have optional designs for rocket launchers...

2 is definatly my favorite, just has a sleek, light scout tank, kind of look. Love the 'boat shaped' underhull if thats what it is with the faint lines behind and the ariel harkens back to images in my head of ww2 german halftracks. Just to me looks the most 'scout like' Low profile hull (which 6 shares) but I like the combination of a wider style treads. It looks sleek while still having a rugged shape. I just like the turret to hull being more forward than the sleeker shape of 6, but this is of course my take on it, wouldn't mind seeing a combination of the two but to me you have a winner in 2.

They all have been my favorites so no answers are wrong and they're peoples opinions so they can't be wrong!

I think that 6 is more scout-like and streamlined but I like the driver hatch and exhaust from 2 as well as the treads from 8....

Okay! Tomorrow I make a new design incorporating these!

I just too love the forward aspect of 2 in relation to the position of the turret. I mean yes if the driver is right up front does make his space a little more cramped but I think it also helps with the size imo. the positioning on 6, looks almost as if its like a scaled down medium tank as opposed to what I see with 2 is the kind of 'scout armored car' aspect a little more.

i like the sentinal tank idea... one thing you should think about tho is that with the malcador you are currently building you are using a very old, established look... i would work with that look too... namely the track design... there is a certain shape to it which you should use throughout all your tankvariants... well i am a bit biased as this is my favorite shape for tracks^^... modern tanks lack this characterful shape sadly...

oh and by all means sketch more^^ i wish i coudl sketch at all... if i do...my stuff looks like that produced by my kids... and they are 4 and 6 years old...

Vik just to let you know that when anyone starts sketching thats what it tends to look like...

The problem is that in most cases it's enough of a disapointment that the person stops sketching.....

I'm lucky in that I whent to school for art. However compared to most in that class I sucked and that stopped me from sketching for a few years....

Then I realised what I was good at. (not organic stuff) and now I can imbrase my love of vehicals and buildings...

One tip if you try to sketch something. Start with a lot of small thumbnail sketches. At the largest 1"x1" in size do a handfull and then take your favorite and do it alittle large a nother handfull of times. Repeat this and soon you'll have a decent sketch of something and it's more likely to look like whats in your head.

yep... i do know that practise makes püerfect but well you have to get back in the sadle... that´s sometimes the hardest part...

and when the next sketch raises his ugly head for me (my sketches are meant^^) than i will have to remember your way of tackling the sketch dilemma... i think your way sounds good enough for me to try even^^

that is the best part of sketching... there are no limitations to it... you can do it everywhere and almost in any circumstances...

Okay I was looking in my oversized file of tanks and pulled out this beauty. I think that my sentinal variant will look similar to the Russian T60

It wouldn't be an armoured car. Instead the designs are ment to be light tanks or tankette's.

hmmm... will this malcador tank be more of a try out version for yoiur army or does that tank show the direction the style of your army is heading? if the later then i think you should look more into mark V tanks... or for that matter british tanks... their design is similar to the malcador... of course you can mix as you see fit...

My goal for the far distnt future is to build a death krops army....

I think that the malcador is definatly going to be in my army two or three of them if I like how it finishes up...

I think that the T60 would fit into the army because everything I've seen other than that picture (Chosen because it was the nicest side view I have) are very angular....

Which in my mind bodes well for rivets and strapping to beef it up. Hopefully without making it look stronger then it is. I have to remember that these little guys won't be much better then a guard with a lascannon. Just a heck of a lot cooler.

Here I tossed up a few of the more angular pictures...

Don't get me wrong I'm not going to use the T60/70 as it is. But do a complete redesign and just use the size and proportions of the original.

i think some of your recent sketches actually go into this direction...it is a renault old WWI tank:

i think your major concern should be the footprint of that tank count as sentinal... to make your army still as legal as possible... also height should be with this fella a bit easier...

from a just good looking perspective i somehow like version 4 of your recent sketches... it looks rather fast! and i think that is a feature that describes the sentinel quite good... fast in movement and fast in dieing^^

oh and Didde, RW and silver... you totally forgot that everything rests on a totally riveted deathstar... can´t get bigger than that, now can we?

well it was my first thought of a count as sentinel tank...it is/was rather one of the smallest tanks out there..

For sure! I think that something between the renault and the t60 would be nice..

And any design that ends up being made will be the size of a sentenal base..

They're all scetched to scale to fit on the 60mm base.

for referrence you can always search for grotz tanks as well... they would give you a general feel of the scale i think...

have you yet looked into shasolenzabi´s thread? he has some tractor tanks made from scratch as well...
