I think that this is very sad indeed! I also play Wolves and JOTWW is a very nasty thing, but something you have to fight it with cunning and tactics! There's far too much of this going on! The German army in WW2 revolutionised war strategy with Blitzkreig and therefore countries fell very quickly, what would have happened if the generals of the day didn't want to fight blitzkreig?!?!? I know it's a wee bit out there as an example but coming back to Earth (or at least Warhammer) in my second game I fought against Skaven with a Hell pit abomination which consequently ate my Vampire Lord in one and made my army crumble really really badly!!!! I will have to find another way to combat that using my vamps and not say that I will not go against Skaven!
The one situation where I would definately advocate this course of action would be anything chaos related vs grey knights!!!

Rant over! I would ask about pit of shades, which lore is it?! Sounds interesting!

Cheers
Andy

So when you rolll magic dice say 3d6, if any of those dice are ones or twos he loses concentration?
Abyssel wrote:What I mean is, if I went to cast a spell with my level 4 wizard, and the spell needs a 5+ to cast, so I use 1D6 because he is level 4, and I roll a 2, even though I totaled 6, the spell will not go off, and the wizard cannot cast again for that phase. Other wizards besides my level 4 may still cast though.

Roll 2D6 for a spell and get double 1's, than he loses concentration as well as a miscast.

Ni but if the total rolled for all the dice is 2- he looses concentration, thats why using just one is risky using two is fine and 3+ is safe buuut if you use too many you might loose control and even though the spell will work what happens to the mage after tends to be bad for him (and often those nearby).

What hover said. If you roll 3D6 and rolled all 1's, you will not lose concentration because 1+1+1=3
