I was so hyped up about the Release. The Averland army look so promosing but due to Cruddace I won't be starting it.

That build was there in the last book, but 100 points cheaper.

Yeah, I know, but you would have had to have been crazy to take it, but its a good bit more viable now that you have only a .01% chance of falling back from panic, etc.

The one thing that may save the Empire book in my mind is this
.

If the planetarium stacks with itself and parry saves.

Oh god I hate you now, you're getting my hopes up

I hate hard counters. In a game of rock, paper, scissors, I hate playing any of the factions because no matter what you choose you might as well not deploy against your hard counter. I want to use a gun. Rock, paper, and scissors could all probably still beat gun, but gun will never feel like a game is a lost cause.

The VC version does.

Although the VC benefit is a regen save, the cart is significantly better than the planetarium.

Yeah if the planetarium is a better mortis engine than I think empire has hope.... Swordsmen with 4+ ward in cc say what?

Is it confirmed?

Also does the Plane-arium do anything else?

It shoots a blast template of some kind. And no it is still unknown if it stacks. But by Sigmar I plan to find out

If it stacks, I wonder how it is worded so that it will or wont stack twice or more times.

And if it is worded like the Mortis engine I'm just going to say %&@! the WoC Armybook.

Better not say all models... Better say all units

I'm pretty sure it doesn't stack.

I realize that some of the Empire options were a little overpowered, but I never thought that everything (except spearmen) was overpowered.

Shhhhh. Don't ruin the only hope.

I'm about 90% sure that a 5+ wont stack to become a 3+, but it may stack with the parry or an innate ward save

Nope, sorry to burt your bubble, the plant-ah-rium doen't tack with parry. Just a 6++. And it's actually the luminark of Hysh that does it.

Don't believe what everone says, I am really a Brainboy who survived the weed wipeout and now I go on secret missions for Tzeench I can also control your mind. (jokes)

You could have a unit of 9 tacticals that are flipping off the enemy with both hands, they still have a bolt pistol and bolt gun.

I have to agree here. When the VC book was coming and all we had was White Dwarf information and 'reliable information', everyone still cried about Zombies still being completely worthless and never a good option for a tarpit.

That turned out well.

Thank you!

The amount of hyperbole in this thread is mind boggling. I'm glad some people see this as an incomplete picture.
Just before you get too Holier-than-thou... the Army book *IS OUT*. I have it, and I'm sure many others also have it. I'm not exactly sure how long it's been out, but I'm sure I wasn't the first to get it - being that I'm not the sort to wait with baited breath for new releases. I'm also pretty sure it would have been out on Thursday when you posted all these comments.

There sure are plenty of disappointments in the book at first glance - but I guess time and experience will tell whether the positives outweigh the negatives.
There sure are some interesting new/changed units, and for one I much like the look of the new Warrior Priest prayers
