I'm asking in all seriousness, do criminals actually take people's limbs off over there?

That's something we don't see in the States.

I will name several, but I want to argue on the side of the humble gak hole. I kinda like gak holes, I went on shore leave in Senegal and it was funny as feth... only funny because I was with 20 blokes though obviously, I got the impression that they were desperate to try a mugging but didnt have the bottle.

Some rough nightspots there.

Gibraltar is a gak hole, that's funny as well, whore houses, cheap pints, much drinking and thuggery by the random mobs of soldiers and sailors that wash up there... its like something out of Pirates of the Caribbean!

Same goes for Union street in Plymouth.. Its chaos but wonderful.

I would rather drink in a cesspit than a bar with a dress code. And they wouldn't let me in a pub in San Diego because I only had a British passport for ID?

I didn't have that trouble in Rwanda!

I didn't mean to bash London, Its just that here in America we only hear about what parents killed their children and who killed who, We don't hear alot from other countries unless we are waging a war against them. I always thought London was a more peaceful place because of the lack of fire arms. But then again you don't hear about very many muggings in Texas, just because you don't know who has a gun under their coat.

Where are the other countries in all this? What about France? Now there is a safe country to make fun of. The one thing the brits and the Americans agree on. France sucking, This is said half jokingly. Here comes the wave of back lash...

I gotta agree with Squid here. Camden would be a rat infested hellhole.... if the rats hadn't already fled to Trenton. Flint looks like a picnic area when you compare the crime rates: Camden is 454% higher than the National average... Flint is only 368% for violent crimes... though Flint takes the property crimes.
And the main reason that Arson is down in Camden is because all the torchable buildings are already burned down.

Union street in 2000 was just pub, pub, pizza shop, pub, strip club, pub, bookies, pub, pub, nightclub, pizza shop, stripclub, bookies, pub,pub, pub.. and loads of mucky birds, and thats excluding the Navy ones!

I was based at 42 commando for the best part of 5 years so I stopped appreciating it, but I'd fething love to go back down there now.

It is. Boston's a great city, and it's a great place to visit. But the natives (Me) will tell you that there are parts of Boston you just don't go to without an escort.

You're not going to get killed in Boston. The police are amazing at stopping crime here. But you are going to get into a heap of trouble if you start anything. Not only trouble from the Cops, but the locals. They show no mercy.

It is, compared to many US cities, it's crime rate is tiny for it's size.

It's also a tiny City as well. 90 square miles. It's the third most densely populated city in the US.

Don't get me wrong, I love Boston. It's an amazing city. I would recommend that everyone goes there.

Just parts of Boston aren't great.

I was also there around the same time, remembered enjoying the company of a most accommodating young lady in the toilets at jesters. It's not what it used to be, from what I'm told, many of the clubs closed and the area is crawling with the law, both coppers and MPs now. I think it got tamed.
