Eh. I see no reason why teleport homers cannot be attached to power armor, though I think I may have confused some people. I mean the assault specialists teleport out, not the walkers and vehicles.

Basically, a battle would go like this, assuming that the foe was attacking, say, an IoM world and my chapter was first to respond:
1- Deploy Razorbacks, Devastators, and Dreadnoughts. They unleash the full force of their weaponry (which would be slightly advanced compared to most others, except those with ties to the AdMech or those that are just better at technology, like the Salamanders).

2- As that happens, dozens of sniper teams drop in, either by teleporting or using grav-chutes (which ever is more silent), then they advance forward and take up positions on the flanks, and begin taking out important-looking targets. They also mark locations near enemy lines, and locator beacons are shot from orbit directly onto those marked points, ensuring pinpoint teleport/drop pod accuracy.

3- As the snipers start sniping, and the enemy starts losing their fudge, the assault units (known in my army as The Facerollers) teleport/drop in as close to the enemy as possible (usually on the flanks, or behind the enemy), instantly attacking enemy lines with all the ferocity they can muster.

4- As lines break, those assault units are teleported back up, then down again in a different location, again usually on the flanks or behind the enemy, with the razorbacks, Devs, and Dreads still raining plasma, lascannon fire, missiles, and AC shells into the enemy.

Basically, the Dreads, Devs, and Razors meet the enemy head on, while the Snipers and assault units harass the fudge out of the enemy.

I dunno... a lot of telly-ing.... teleporting isn't the safest way you know... there's always the risk someone's gonna get teleported into a rock or lost in the warp, or intercepted even (see salamanders series).

You CAN teleport standard PA marines but then your risks are a little higher, which is why they stick them on termies because they're bulkier and hardier.

Teleporting in 40k isn't like your Star Trek tellies... it's basically throwing someone through the warp, and we all know how wonderfully easy and awesome and totally safe warp travel is

Good plan, but I agree with blazin... teleportation is not something any sane person volunteers to do eagerly... and more importantly, frequently. It can rip you apart and throw your innards across the galaxy and render your soul defenseless to the miasma's and denizen's of the warp. If that seems horrifically accurate, imagine it to be ten times worse and then we're getting someplace.

That's true. Though for some reason i tend to think in real-world terms than 40k terms... I often for get how ubiquitous warp travel is. Been playing necrons way too much... considering how they hate the warp, their teleportation doesn't involve warp travel at all. I keep thinking teleportation is more like star trek or how many theoretical physicists think teleportation could be (that is, disassembling and reassembling molecule by molecule), though that is far beyond the means of the IoM.

Well then, I suppose Jump Packs and Thunderhawks it is.
