I think it's only fair that the Gun gets the bounty, since no matter who takes credit for the kill, there is no debate on the fact that a gun was involved.
I disagree.
It's entirely possible there was an extremely passionate application of a hammer and a bullet or two.
You bring up a good point.
What about the Shell Casings? Do you think they are still around? If so we may have our winners.

Personally, I don't see how and US President in the situation would have done nothing, so that one is a throw away option.
If the probability of success is low, then the wiser option turns on how you believe the public will react in the event your decision to do nothing is exposed. In this case, if it were likely that the mission would fail, and likely that the probability of failure could be sold to the American public, then the best option is inaction.
That said, the American people generally don't like being told that out armed forces can't do something, so it really just comes down to a question of the probability of success, versus the probability of exposure of inaction.

Obama can brag about killing one guy all he want's, it's his "prize" so to speak.
The only thing that angers me is the right saying "no no he shouldn't do that" and seemingly forgetting how bush LANDED in an aircraft carrier during the 2004 election season, and much much more that I don't care to remember.
It's like a stupid version of capture the flag in the goverment atm, with the presidency being the flag.

Perhaps.
Personally I feel that the Villa should get the reward. After all, the man died in it. Clearly the house is responsible.

Maybe we can put the Shell casings and the Villa in a cage match. Winner gets the Bounty.

No one.
That was a very stupid thing to do in my opinion. Those Marines deserved a reward.
Why? They were simply doing their (incredibly risk and dangerous) job. They didn't get the vital info, nor organize the operation. They certainly didn't fund it. What they did was brave and admirable, but why should they get a reward on top of their pay?
I would think the reward for being the team that dropped #1 would be enough. Seriously, these guys will never have to buy their own beer again. Ever.

But it could have been any special team that was assigned to this mission, it's not like these guys personally hunted him down. This operation was no more risky than the thousands they have conducted over the years.

True, but it wouldn't be the first time people were rewarded for being lucky now would it?
Plus, they did do it.
