What I have gathered. . .

Assault Terminators are amazing at assaulting, while Tactical Terminators are good at everything.

This goes back to the basic tactics of 40k. Have duplicated units of single jobs that they are best in. Don't do the GW tactics of ML and Flamer. Do the Melta, melta, the heavy heavy, and the assault assault.

That being said, shooty is still a tactic even though everyone is Mech these days. This forum puts Tac Termies best in mid field or behind enemy lines if the enemy has moved to mid field. It also shows Tac Termies as only useful if walking, because they need to all shoot in order to be affective.

Side Note, a full squad of SS is dumb, how many times will they really be shot at by AP 1, 2 ? you should have split of claws and hammers not just one or the other.

Put it all together, either take a LRC with a squad of mixed assault termies strait into enemy lines, or you deep strike a large group of tac termies with cannons into mid field with the assist of a scout's becon.

The Good: 8,000
Ultramarine, Scouts, Blood Angels, Dark Angels
The Bad: 8,000

Everything here looks good except the deep striking tactical terminator part. It is an option, but usually not the best one especially if you are packing a pair of cyclone launchers.
