if my dice are rolling extremely poorly and my opponent even comments about it, ive never had anyone complain about switching dice in game....although to be fair, everyone i play with knows i have dice OCD... (8 chessex 12mm cubes and 5 16s, plus another 75ish loose dice....

The only thing worse then a wargaming problem, is a dice addicition.

If your dice don't work start talking loudly and clearly about buying new ones. That usually straightens them out.

If that doesn't work shrug and use different dice.

Take the dice that rolls ones the most consistently, place it on a part of the ground outside. Load shotgun with birdshot, blow that mofo to pieces and have the other dice a safe distance away to watch the blamming. It may not have any scientific basis, but commissar style executions of dice are very satisfying.

i would think birdshot would be more effective, since dice arent super robust, the birdshot will suffice and make hitting the dice easier anyway

also, sometimes you need 1s...

There's no fun in it to execute them commissar style.

I've been using my disobedient dice to help improve my rifle aim. I've gotten out of practice since I quit hunting a few years back, and now I'm back in prime form. It's a carthartic way to deal with the frustration of poorly-designed dice while at the same time practicing a legitimate skill. Bonus.

I'll also be looking into investing in some Gamescience dice. Those will not be taken to the range with me, and I'll keep one cube of GW brand dice for leadership and characteristic tests.

Well, take the dice that fail you the most. I mark my dice with a permanent marker for this purpose, shouldn't overweight them to any side too much if at all, and lets me know which ones are doing badly for me. And the deershot was a typo. If I used that I'd probably have lung cancer from all the dice fragments I'd have created by now.

keep your cruddy dice in a separate bag where they can depress each other (use these dice for ld tests). This way their negative attitude wont infect your other dice.

My new koplow dice arrived. I'm now getting much more reasonable results

I'm sure he exaggerates some stuff a little bit, but it's still hilarious to read all the same.

As for my own luck, my PW's have never, EVER managed to wound anything. I don't know how, mathematically it's impossible. I'll roll like 9 hits, with 5's to wounds, and get like seven 1's. I'm seriously contemplating getting new ones, as these are clearly not working

The worst luck I've EVER had in 4 years of this game was a squad of plague marines assaulted a squad of lootas in a building, I had 15 attacks and 3 on the fist, 2 of the 15 manged to hit, but failed to wound, and the fist rolled triple 1's. I was absolutely astonished.

I found that rolling underhanded ends with mostly better results, and some dice are luckier for a time being.

I support getting some Koplow square dice (I got my 12mm translucent blue brick in the mail today) or even bicycle brand if you can find any.

Dice setting is certainly cheating, but some folks roll consistently out of habit. If you notice yourself doing this, then pay attention to the facings you grab and how they end up when you roll. Obviously a good chuck of the dice or a dice cup will alleviate this issue, I like game tables that have a lip around the edge so loose dice don't become an issue.

I roll them everyday in fake situations so they feel appreciated.

Why would you roll you dice overhand?! Wouldn't that be more "pitching" dice than rolling them?

The best strategy for dealing with dice gods hating you is to sacrifice the dice that are rolling nothing but crap for you.

After your match, get some sort of sledgehammer or other blunt tool, and smash any dice that rolled horribly consistently. The key is to perform this ritual with the other dice in your collecting looking on, so they learn a lesson. only problem with this is you have to buy tons of dice when you get bad luck streaks.
