The War of 1812 wasn't a draw. The US won (by fighting off a much bigger opponent, opening up trade with France, ending the impressing of American sailors, ending the threat of Native American attacks, and getting the National Anthem), Canada won (by remaining part of the Empire, and by gaining a national identity), and Britain won (by keeping Canada part of the Empire, and by defeating the more important enemy: Napoleon).

The only losers of the War were the Native Americans, who were defeated militarily and lost the British support.

Wellllllll. Not that on really.

"Since the issues of impressment and maritime rights were not dealt with in the peace, that motivation for war could be considered a failure, despite some spectacular victories at sea, which were indicators of the future potential of American power"

The War simply extended beyond any point or purpose, France, was for the time being defeated, the British Navy no longer needed to Impress British sailors who had fled to America. America really had no reason to continue either, apart from the British Policy of assisting Natives, which ended after the war. Unfortunately the Brits somehow managed to monumentaly cock things up after the peace was signed thus force me to type this segment of text. So Overall as has been mentioned, every party in some way Won because they all got what they needed in the end. Except the Indians but that wasn't out of the ordinary.

Franco-American War: French enemy, British uninvolved
Barbary Wars: French and British uninvolved
War of 1812: French uninvolved, British enemy
Mexican-American War: French and British uninvolved
American Civil War: French and British uninvolved
First Samoan Civil War: French uninvolved, British ally
Second Samoan Civil War: French uninvolved, British ally
Spanish–American War: French and British uninvolved
Philippine War of Independence: French and British uninvolved
Boxer Rebellion: French and British allies
Mexican Revolution: French and British uninvolved
World War I: French and British allies
Russian Civil War: French and British allies
World War II: French and British allies
Korean War: French and British allies
Vietnam War: French and British uninvolved
Persian Gulf War: French and British allies
Bosnian War: French and British allies
Kosovo War: French and British allies
War in Afghanistan: French and British allies
Iraq War: French uninvolved, British ally
Libyan civil war: French and British allies

Of the 24 wars involving America, we've been with the French 11 times and against them 1 time (meaning that when we're both involved, we're on the same side 92% of the time). With the British, we've fought them 3 times and fought with them 13 times (being on the same side 81% of the time).

Clearly Britain is a bigger enemy of the US than France is. Of course, neither of them compares to our real enemies: Germany, Mexico, Spain, Samoa, Native Americans, and pretty much all of Asia.

While for the most part that is true. Don't forget about Vichy France, the French SS divisons, or the Milice.

IIRC the I read some where that the British would have most likely kept New Orleans if they have won the battle. No matter what the treaty would have said, because it was still a very important port, and after all ownership is 9/10ths of the law. But, I could be wrong.
