My favorite weapon in the game is the eviscerator. Especially on guardsmen. In a galaxy filled with genetically-enhanced super-humans, arcane aliens that can rip you apart with their mind, and living monstrosities the size of battle tanks...

... anyways, I also like eviscerators on any other model you can put eviscerators on as well. Kharn's one-handed at-initiative eviscerator is pretty cool too. Carnifex, meet my axe...

As for shooting, I've got to go with the lascannon. When you get so sick of all those other weapons pattering helplessly off of armor saves, or those autocannons just peeling paint on those chimeras, lascannons are there to make you feel like you're bringing a grown-up weapon.

In CC: Gimme a power fist. Cause I like punchIng stuff.

At range: A storm bolter. Full-auto RPGs weren't rediculous enough, so let's tape two of them together. I guess that makes me a terminator now, but feth it, I don't care.

For a have weapon, a plasma cannon. The PF can handle the heavy armor, so the PC is good for doling out head-sized globs of feth-you to just about everything else on the battlefield.

I would have to say War Scythe, phase shifter, and mind shackle scarabs.

I just love bolt weaponry. Bolt pistols, bolters, storm bolters, heavy bolters... and not to forget combi-weapons. I just love their looks. And they are rather versatile. Yeah they don't pop up tanks but they are still good.

Boltguns were the reason I started marines although I dislike power armor (and so a scout army was born). I've been converting different kind of versions of the bolters for the troopers along the way. Bolters are awesome.

for melee weapons, I have to give a +1 to the eviscerator. I mean, it is literally a two-handed chainsaw-sword that will most likely rip apart anything it touches. who doesn't like that kind of power?

as for "ranged" weapons, my favorite is the demo charge, simply because the guy they give it to seems to trip most of the time and will some times even destroy his own unit.

Ranged: The humble old Bolter (or anything in the hands of a sternguard)

Melee: Powerfist or a Force Sword nothing says die like being able to punch a terminator's torso off his legs or sticking a Force Sword in a Carnifex's ribs and watching the warp 'splode it's head....

For me its all about small arms. Give me a Godwhyn Pattern Bolter and stand clear. What's not to love about a SMG that discharges a 75 caliber auto reactive warhead.

CQB: The Black Sword
Mid Range: Assault Cannon. I have a chaingun strapped to my arm. BRING IT ON!

The meltagun. I really hope nothing screws with it in 6e

I would say hallucination psychic power just to see the enemy attack himself...bit like when you call a waghhhhh and you roll a one.

Most are drawn to the super heavy slow things, its interesting. Anyway, I would have to go either a venom blade or agonizer, and any splinter or lance weapon. They are jjust so elegant, but so deadly, much like a woman in a rage.
