What about the ship named Dahak and all of the other ships of similar size in that universe. It was a ship the size of the moon with guns that had guns built onto them. It launched Battleships that in turn launched their own fighters. And the best part is, that it was one of thousands in exsistance in the universe.

Yes-, it turns F-14's into Bantha Fodder. But it can't turn a Veritech into Bantha fodder.

The only weapon I cna think of with comparable firepower to the Reflex Cannon is the Super Laser on the Death Star.

Also, I'm suddenly feeling way too nerdy.

Hate to tell you King but I think Serenity got hosed by being matched against the Enterprise.

Final bracket will probably end up being Enterprise vs TARDIS (and I agree, its not a space ship).

Why isn't the Ark (original cartoon or new movie) here? A giant space ship filled with GIANT FREAKING ROBOTS that turn into vehicles. Come on.

I admit I'm biased, as I'm a huge Transformers fan.

I am too(I geeked out earlier today when I finally received SDCC 2008 Nemesis Prime for my Shadow Commander armor and last week when I received all 3 MakeToys set to build my G2 colored Giant/not-Devastator), but honestly, the Ark is a little bland(the original is just half a disc with some panel lines and viewports and spends the majority of the series in a volcano with its ass hanging out). The Bayverse version is a bit cooler(yes, I have the Cyberverse playset version), but it's still pretty blah in comparison to many of those posted(some of which are also blah IMO).

Ghidorah wrote:There's several brackets to vote in. Some are pretty slanted one way or the other and, in many cases the pairings are ludicrous. Like, how the heck can you even compare the SS Normandy from Mass Effect to an X-Wing? That's just dumb. Anyway, here's the link. I'm curious to see which Star Wars ship takes it all.
http://science.howstuffworks.com/coolest-spacecraft-bracket-game.htm

Naturally, Star Wars and Star Trek will win everything just because people are voting as fans rather than on he actual coolnees of the ships. I'd just like to add, how the hell can you have "cool" and "spaceship" together and not have the Millennium Falcon nowhere in sight?

Discovery One is the coolest because it doesn't require any "science fiction" mumbo jumbo (science fiction in brackets because it is in fact no science and all fiction). You want gravity on your ship? Then you need a big rotating ring, not a "warp drive core" whatever the hell that is.

Also, no Rama? I am disappointed, obviously you have to have appeared on TV or in a film to be considered cool.

I guess so because I've been a huge scifi nerd my entire life and have no clue what either of those two ships are from. I'm guessing a book.

Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

Yeah B5 should have had at least one contender,

Looks like next round ti could be TARDIS vs. Galatica

No it shouldn't. The actual design for the Firefly class isn't that interesting compared to the Constitution class. The Constitution is also very iconic, you can do a vague drawing with similar features and even non-fans will be able to recognize it. The same can't be said of a Firefly.

I don't even know what that is, KC. I couldn't care less about what the series is(Star Trek can blow me, unless we're talking original, Wrath of Khan, or DS9), coolest spaceship competitions should be about cool ship designs, not their series.

Discovery One is from 2001: A Space Odyssey, that one is in there.

Rama is the name given by scientists to the ship in the book "Rendezvous With Rama" which is written by the same person as 2001, Arthur C. Clarke. I'd recommend it.

You want gravity on your ship? Then you need a big rotating ring,

Spoiler:

Not sure that how that ship would work. The centrifugal force would allow you to walk along some of the inner walls but some of them would be like trying to walk up a cliff. I was meaning more like this
