Well by that logic then, the DE Archon in the unit of Eldar whatever that has had fortune cast on it wouldn't get the rerolls either. If you can pick out who gets to use what when looking at the entirity of the unit. It all goes back to what is an eldar unit.
The counter attack USR specially says that even though the ability is conveyed to the entire unit, only models that actually have the USR get the bonus attack. This sounds a lot like that.

No, the logic is that you cannot Target the unit, as it is a DE unit. When the IC joins he becomes a member of the unit for all purposes.

I read somewhere once that Tau were perhaps, kinda, maybe made by the Eldar. Thus........ Tau=Eldar=Dark Eldar... FAIL!!!!!

My main reason for Eldar = Dark Eldar is the simple fact that GW has already FAQ'd Blood Angel =/= Space Marine, Space Marine =/= Grey Knight, Etc. However there is not one such FAQ for the Eldar dex. Mind you in the above stated DNE the mention C: specifics.
While in the Eldar codex they left it to just say Eldar.

That is because, in the Eldar codex, Eldar means Eldar, and not Dark Eldar, as Dark Eldar are a completely separate army.

Sorry if this has been posted here already (I'm too lazy atm to read the entire thread).
In the BRB they refer to both Eldar Jetbiktes and Dark Eldar jetbikes as "Eldar Jetbikes". Now I know that there is evidence the the contrary in other texts, but GW sure are masters of screwing things up and leaving space for different interpretations.

Yes, they screw things up, but Vect's rule makes it clear that Eldar =/ Dark Eldar.

Well I don't really care how GW are going to rule this, but I don't think that the text on vect proves anything. That text is written before 6th edition and the text in the BRB about jetbikes is written in the 6th edition rulebook. But however it is GW who should have adressed this since it is they who came up with the idea of calling both Eldar and Dark Eldar jetbikes for "eldar jetbikes" in the BRB. This could easily let you draw the conclusion that you could do this when it comes to other things too.
However I believe that people should only use the rules as they are written, and not how they assume it is working. Until gw adresses this I wouldn't try to exploit this or anything else that is unclear. Automatically Appended Next Post: Well it has been clearified now by the faq, so that's good
