Please check the assaulting vehicle rules and get back to me on this one. If you don't consider that a boost...well then I guess Gauss didn't get a boost either?

TP are in the same slot.

Your argument has been denied.

Yes they can still use those grenades in CC, which is where they shine! This does turn the whole operation into a two turn affair though, since they can't assault the turn they deep strike. This gives you, the opponent, a turn to counter that deep strike, by shooting up the easy to kill birdies, or driving the hell out of there! (which might not be easy, admittedly, but at least you do have the chance to retort).

This changes drastically with our Royal Court. Since we can take a unit of 4 stormteks and a veiltek for low points and then deep strike a small footprint unit and fire 16 haywire shots at BS 3... that should delete most vehicles.

Unless your taking 3XTPs, don't see how that hurts their viability. Plus, they are completely different units. One is a tarpit/are denial/large footprint/cheap resilient wounds, the other is an aggressive CC beat stick. I don't want my TP's and DLord fighting your gaunts, I'll use my Flayed Ones to strip off your bubble wrap and then charge your Trygon with my beat stick.

Skoffs:

Flayed Ones need to be able to operate on an island, by themselves, to properly work as a tarpit/anvil/bookend to reign in your opponent. Not being able to reliably threaten vehicles was hindrance to this roll in 5th, no longer in 6th. Sure every other unit threatens vehicles, but no other unit combines their flexible placement/tarpitting capabilites/and objective denial capabilites (Scarabs can't deny) in the way Flayed Ones do. Your not bringing them for any ONE of these things, your bringing them for ALL of these things, and no other unit gives that to you.
