Before I even type a response, I want to point out we all know we shouldn't be comparing these things in a vacuum. That said, it isn't about the point value of THSS Terminators. They have the perfect weapon and the perfect defense against WG. No one said THSS when I made my first comment. Against LCs and TacTermies, I'll take WG any day. But THSS is a different story. This is why comparing the two in a vacuum is not helpful. If I see 10 THSS Termies I'm going to Dakka them down with Lasers, Shuriken and DeathSpinners and assault with something like Harlies to finish the stragglers. WG have exactly the wrong kind of weapon to kill THSS--a few shots that rely on piercing armor. Synergize if you want to make this work, but if you expect WG to win against everything like a Deathstar then it's good you don't like them because that's not what they do.

As for how do you get 2 volleys of shots against them before you get charged? Position yourself so they have to move through cover to get at you. Back pedal to try for maximum distance. Make sure they're trying to assault through terrain. Its a pain to link from my phone, but look at 3++.net to find some awesome tables on the chances for charge ranges. Through terrain its pretty dang unreliable to get more than 4 inches. Then you might cut off another inch if you kill a terminator with overwatch. I'm not saying 2 volleys should be assumed, but I think with smart play you have a good chance to pull it off.

Based on my personal experience, I chose fire dragons. I own all the elite choices, have played them, and right now, fire dragons are pretty much our hard-counter unit to anything "Elite". With the over-saturation of 2+ saves after the PW nerf, having very easily usable ap1 guns is amazing.

Now, oddly enough, I actually run them in a Falcon most times. Its a little more expensive, but With Jinx, and all the night fight running around, the falcon has become a very nice transport for our little 80 pt death-squads. And while I might be a bit crazy, right now I'm in a low points league, and the ability to use the Pulse laser, as well as the FDs inside has given me a very mobile unit that can crack a land raider, and then damage whatever might be hiding it it.

In a falcon?? really?? For a suicide unit? That would be such a huge target! All space markines come with krak grenades so they are dangerous to any vehicle they come near. If they assault the vehicle, BOOM. Falcons want to keep distance and shoot, fire dragons want to get in close and burn.... It just seems odd to combine them.

Krak grenades are only str 6, so the emperor better bless thier dice if they even want to glance me. And yes, it gives you a nice plinking unit till the time comes to actually crack something, and going in, not only do you have 5 str 8 ap1 melta shots, but lets now combine another pair of 8 ap2 shots from the falcon. And comparitively, I'm only paying an extra 20-30 points for it over the serpent, I don't need the serpent's carrying capacity, and I get better guns.

Seems like a decent deal to me, and its one of the reasons I love the falcon. It can get up close, it can stay away, and can bring some serious fire power right down the middle. Flexibility is the falcon's game, and that's a rarity in our army.

Harlequins, they are just awesome. They are pretty good with the current messed up FAQ and they have all the toys.
Plus I absolutely love the models!

@VegaGreywolf. The thing is that the Falcon can deliver those 2 (more likely 3 since the EML is a great option) S8 shots from the other side of the board. Its role hasn't changed from 5th, its gotten significantly cheaper (Holos are a waste now) and its easier to focus fire down (since you can glance it to death, but that applies to every vehicle), but its still a very good backfield gunboat. Stick 5 Avengers in it and hang back to drop them on an objective late game. In practice you should have both Falcons and Serpents in an army, Serpents are still the best choice for Dragons.

Don't underestimate Kraks, they are a serious threat to any Eldar vehicle. A 5 man combat squad will easily strip off 1-2 Hull points and a 10 man unit will reliably kill any Eldar vehicle.

Krak grenades, S6. Tac squad assaults. 10 grenades, 6.66 get planted. All assault attacks go directly to rear armour. A roll
Of 4 glances. 5+ penns. So 3.33 are at least glancing. Falcon has 3 hull points. That's a dead falcon.
