@d-usa. Are you going to try doing water effects? Something coming out of the pipes would be cool.

Was thinking about water at he bottom of the trench. If I do that there will be water from the pipe as well.

Are you planning to fix the rebar clip things to the pipe?
Did you think about running thinner pipe that would fit through the rebar clips underneath the main pipe? Would add some detail and give you more contact points between the upper pipe and the connectors.

Great thread guys. I love this kind of stuff.
@d-usa and BlueDagger: What section of the store did you find these things?

Hey Blue, what is the catwalk on that pipe made from?? Is that a gaming thing or a hardware store thing?

@ CDK - you can find them in the concrete section. They are called Grip-Rite 2-1/4 in. Rebar High Chair (20-Piece)
http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-202090708/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=rebar&storeId=10051#.UKugOofAd0o
@ Plastictrees - No plans to adhere it. I want this to be 100% modular for not only play variety but for storage and transportation. I did attempt to melt/mold the a clip to open the holder part of it , but they are made of extremely tough plastic and designed not to bend at the eyehole lol. That being said, they are actually very sturdy in holding it up barring someone directly pushing the pipe. This pipe however will be linked in a cahin of pipes that curve to different angles. Once the whole system is setup it is EXTREMELY stable.
@Gitsplitta - The control panel on the platform is just plasticard (from an iphone 5 box inparticular) and 3 old SD memory cards. The platform it's self is made from 2 strips of vinyl trim (pictured earlier) superglued together. I then cut thin pieces of plastic card (for sale sign) and super glued/bent pieces around the ends. The ladder is made from... lego ladders, and a piece of the same material the catwalk is made of.
The best part about this stuff is it's all really dirt cheap for what results you get.
- 3 2ft pieces and 4 1ft pieces of 2" PVC: $6.62 (plenty for a 4x4)
- the joints are like 50 cents - $1
- 3 18" walkways worth of trim: $2.85
- 20 rebar holders for: $2.95
- super glue: $3
- For sale sign: $1.65
- You can get a PILE of lego ladders from a lego store. You can fill a little bucket full of them for $8, but I also picked up some other pieces that I'm really excited to work with too.
The total cost for what is in that picture (minus the SD cards ) probably comes out to about $3.

Lmao, d-usa you get the honor of doing that one lol. I already get enough strange looks from the HD employees when they ask what all the random stuff I'm buying is for.
