Work is progressing nicely on the titan and I should have some new pics to post soon.

But in the meantime I've been thinking ahead to what my next big project might be, as I want it to be a model on the same scale as the titan, but for one of the other 40K Races.

I already have an idea of something that I will eventually do, but I want to hear what you think I should build and for what race.
Now I don't want to make anything that's already been made as that's no fun, instead I want to build things like the tau titan, something you've never seen before, but something that could exist within the 40K universe.....

Any Ideas???

I hate to correct such an awesome modeller, but you spell Titan like the painter 'Titian' every time! :-) Drop the extra 'i'!

Daemon - Angron-scale Greater Daemon or Daemon Primarch?

CSM - Perhaps some sort of Dark Mechanicus creation, like a massive Forgefiend or Maulerfiend

Ork - Some weird gargant-sized creature/construct

IG - Over-sized sentinel, huge tank, super-heavy flyer like the Tau Manta.

Eldar - Aspect titan, super-heavy tank/transport

DE - New flyer, new raider-like vehicle, maybe a huge Talos Pain engine

Necrons - Titan. Out of everything, I think Necrons need a titan, though we'll see what comes with the new IA12.

That's all I got for now. How much are you going to try to sell this titan for?

This project is absolutely amazing. It's a shame that the new Riptide model just happens to come out when you will finish this, and similarities will be drawn. The upside is, I think you may find a very nice buyer that would like to use this model as a counts-as Riptide.

A Newcron (tomb kings in SPAAAACE) titan and an Oldcron titan (we're mysterious killers, enemies of the eldar!), an Ork Battlecruiser (gargants and stompas are boring! unless it's like a sentinel type thing, or a star wars ATTE), or something related to Rogue Traders. Nobody does them, and until my hobby budget is up again I can't buy any 'umies.

Sorry about the miss spell, I blame the spell checker

And yeah an Eldar Aspect would be quite a challenge.

This is easily 3-4 times bigger than the Riptide suit.
This is a titan that uses Necron Destroyers for feet.

well spotted, those did use to be Necron destroyers, had them leftover from my Necron army and they seemed to fit quite well as feet.

Just seen some pics of the new Tau riptide suit and I like it.
If you haven't seen the Riptide yet goggle it, and let us know what you think.

Yes the base is custom built, as is the tank wreck and all the other detail. Here's some new close up pics, ignore the holes in it, there just for the titans legs to slot into.

Time for an update I think. Works been going slowly on the titan but I have been making progress, as aside from adding little details here and there it's now been pegged to the base,
and can stand without the assistance of ridiculous quantity's of blue-tac.
I've also been working on the Drone dock fitted to the titans back, but there's still a fair bit of work to be done.

But enough of me rantings... lets bring on the pics.

That looks really awesome. However, for some reason it doesn't feel very Tau to me. Most Tau thingies are rather simple planes(flat surfaces, not actual planes!) with lines running through it plus circles. That being said, I really love your work!

It's interesting to me that you with with GS screw heads instead of actual screw heads, in the shoulders.

Regardless of that, this is excellent.

This looks like it would be at home in the game Vanquish...and in my book, that's a very good thing. To put it another way, it looks like it could easily be a Forge World kit. Full of character and just from the pose and build it looks like a really agile machine. I don't think I'd want to part with that if I'd built it. Excellent stuff!

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.

The Base has been finished as has the drone dock on it's back, this will hold four gun drones plus a repair / technical drone, which I've built from odds and ends.
I've also given it a quick undercoat, which was quite thin so it may need another one.

I just have a few more bits to finish, including the pilot, but apart from that it's almost done.

Oh its perfectly tau-ish. The reason the current tau are so "smooth" is because they are old models and lower budget, not to mention much much smaller so you cant have such obvious ridges in it instead of just lines.
You can get an idea how massive this is in comparison by the rail guns. That is the rail gun from the Hammerhead Tanks - and its TINY compared to the model itself. At this scale, if it was just dinky lines it would look weird.

Also i LOVE the drone system. Seriously, youre making me want to start a legit Tau army not just an allied detachment so i can play them in Apoc and field this thing

Well, if the name debate is still going on, I'd like to propose the technical designation "XV-102". The Riptide is 104, so this one could be considered to be a prototype entering field trials.

I'm loving it btw, this suit is epic and I love me some mecha.
