Got a chance to play my Thunderfire for the first time at a tournament this last Sunday. Here is it's kill total (it was a team tourny so the armies were very mixed)

Game 1 (nids & GK)
34 Termagaunts
5 Strike marines
2 wounds on Coteaz

Game 2 (IG & Nids)
10 man vet squad
20+ guys out of a blob squad
40+ Termingaunts
3 Ymgarl genestealers

Game 3 (Nids & DE)
25 Termagaunts
4 genestealers
1 wrack
9 reaver jetbikes

As you can see having to fight the nid tide in every game the TFC did more work then any other unit either me or my partner took. I knew it was good. But not so game breaking as it was.

Warp Spiders! They deep strike in, kill a vehicle, and then jump around harassing things while my opponent throws tons of stuff at them. With hit and run they never stay in combat and can keep hopping to where they're needed mst laying down torrents of S6 fire.

My buddy runs a squad of 8 Warp Spiders with an exarch, and they tear stuff up regularly. I'll never understand why the interwebs thinks the current Eldar list is weak. Expensive does not always equal bad.

It's not that they're expensive, it's that they take more skill than 'point away from face' to use. I actually saw this brought up - someone being told Eldar are more effective than Space marines, you just have to be more skillful in their use. The reply was 'why use something I need to use skillfully, when my Marines can just run in and do the same thing?'.

Personally, I've been on the receiving end of well played Eldar. It hurts, a lot.

Not to drag things too off-topic, but the funny thing is that Eldar on the tabletop work a lot like marines in the fluff: a relatively small amount of soldiers using precise applications of force where they are most needed to achieve success. It's all about knowing where to hit and when to hit it to keep your guys most safe and theirs on the back foot.

Eldar shenanigans are the best shenanigans!
