I will have bikes, and a flyer, but I'm still figuring out their schemes.

I do use a black undercoat, then I use the Vallejo extra opaque colours to define the areas, wash them, clean them with the paint and start blending after that.

The blend is very simple, I use dry blending, but when going from one shade to another, I dont try to blend heavily, in fact there's a clear line between them.
After the new shade is dried, I use a mix of the two colours to 'join' the two shades, here's where I do the blending, and it's very effective, because it allows me to set up exact locations where I want the shading to occur, instead of shading until it looks joined.
I find that if one mix doesn't do it, a secondary mix where the blend didn't generally finishes it off, this is more obvious on the more recent models, some of which I have yet to post.

I love the paint job! I also like the use of the crystals on the base, I think from the color scheme that a base that conveys more of an outerspace or otherworldly location would be ideal for these guys.

Looks great but for some reason it reminds me of a Kids meal Toy with the colors.

They do look nice together, the Necrons used to blend so much you couldn't tell which one is which, I like to think these are differentiated by the clear borders.
