That reminds me of the epic tale of two Necron players.

One claimed he could take the other players necrons out of combat via his Monolith. The other guy tried to explain that's not how it works.

The first guys says "It says ANY necron unit". So the following turn the second guy blocked his own monoliths with his own troops and teleport the first guys necrons through the portal.

Can't deploy... destroyed units. "See? It doesn't work that way".

If that's what it actually said, I'd be impressed at the creative thinking. However that's not what it says unfortunately:

..choose one friendly unengaged non-vehicle Necron unit on the battlefield or in reserve.

My problem is that I tend to assume a lot of things. Sometimes more than I should, but usually it works out fine. Sometimes it gets me in deep, deep sh- trouble, like when I confused the french word for "little girl" with the french word for, "woman." They're only one letter off, you know.

I am sorry, but we need more details. You can't just say something like this and leave it hanging

I was practicing my french in front of my family, and unfortunately chose the sentence, "I would like to *ahem* a woman."

Because I'm stupid like that. x///x

Absolutely glorious thank you for that

I must admit I had a stupid moment a long while back. Friend of mine decided to join in with the 40k so he got 2 AoBR boxes. Totted up to 2k in points. So we had a match so he got a hang of the rules.

Shame I forgot the one very obvious rule of Warbikerz not being able to ascend floors in buildings... Because that won me the match - having a few Warbikerz drive up a ladder and take out a 5-man Combat squad.

I had an argument with a GW staffer who was running a biker army against my (then) brand new guard army. It was my first game of 5th ed. He was claiming his bikes could drive up two floors and murder my vetrans sat on the roof using nothing more than a ladder. I called bs. A store ban (later repealed by the manager) ensued.

I think the only way it could have been worse is if police had been present. Fortunately, they weren't.

I've played against a couple people who have selective FAQ memory. A lot of FAQ bits that are beneficial get brought up and used, but things that don't help their army are never mentioned and I don't find out until later.
