This is the story of the Joestar family, and their battles against bizarre enemies. Jonathan Joestar’s battle against the vampire Dio Brando starts it all, and it continues into roughly each second generation of Joestars through all parts of the story.

Why do they fight these villains? Is the world in danger? Are they plucky heroes that don't want to be, but are the only ones that can stop them?

Edit: I would argue that Game of Thrones has far more storylines and plot threads simply due to the complexities of the political intrigue Martin has crafted, and I fething hate the books.

Yes the villains would take over the world if left uncheck. Certain villains are more powerful than cosmic marvel characters like Funny Valentine or Made in Heaven. Jonathan (the initial joestar) feels obligated to hunt down Dio who fed him his burnt dog, killed his father, and burnt down his estate.

Finally found my quote from a gym buddy born and raised in South Korea:
"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.
"It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
"It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
"It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

I think you would be much more successful in your endeavors if you didn't insult people left and right. You have my attention, but as of yet you've really done little to enlighten me on the subject matter. It just seems like random anime #3240950 that I've never heard of before (except that one game). You seem to really enjoy it, but that obsessiveness is clouding your ability to explain why it's so good.

Should have called the thread "Has anyone ever heard of Jojo's bizarre adventure"

This thread isn't meant to enlighten you. I would need other fans for that. I can tell you to see the anime series, and go to the JoJo wiki.
Obsessiveness? Really? I've explained why its good let me give an example: A villain character dies and the psychic backlash creates an completely invincible monster with motion vision while they are on a plane. How do they kill it? They fly the plane into the ocean and cheese it. It constantly chases after the waves it creates in an endless cycle due to the motion vision.
It's that creative,

So they outwitted an idiot? Motion vision or not, any half-way decent predator would be able to distinguish natural movements from those of prey...

Predator animals are idiots compared to trained humans. That's not a stand out example of dealing with a villain.

Even my cat eventually realizes that the laser pointer is not actual prey... Also, "it's creative" immediately followed by, "it's not a standout example" THEN FETHING WOW US!

It's not finished airing. It hasn't even started part 3.

It's past 11 where I'm at and I start work at 4. it's been a while since I've read JoJo, but I remember they kill off a wimpy villain in a fight that ends in him drowning in human feces.

That villain was a car salesman with a useless stand by the name of "limp bizkit"
Araki has good taste in music and there was a lot of spectacle in that fight before then.
Heres another example: There's a stand user who's a minion to the primary villain of part 6. The main villain want to keep them in the jail for spoilery reasons. That stand is called Jailhouse Rock.
What it does is that everyone in a large area can only remember 3 things other than what they remembered when they stepped into the AOE. And whenever they learn something else it replaces the first thing.
The JoJo of this part tries to counter it by writing things on her arm and has some success. This is a very creative power to say the least.
