Have I got good news for you!

Wyrd moved to plastic for their figures last year. All of their 4th wave is in plastic, and starting in a few weeks they're going to be re-releasing the old box sets and blisters in plastic as well. It might take a year or more for them to get everything out, but they're on their way.

Best advice I can give is just try a couple of Infinity minis, just whichever ones you like the look of. Really, they are so well sculpted and neatly designed that your concerns about the material will quickly disappear - you can even get away without pinning for the most part (I've had to pin a couple of TAGs, and perhaps a handful of minis out of the 30-40 or so I own), just a half decent medium-consistency superglue is sufficient.

Mech Attack
Panzer 8 Sci-Fi
Wastelands Meltdown
In The Emperor's Name
Warhammer 40k
Kings of War
Blasters and Bulkheads and other "Goalsystem" games
This is Not a Test
WarEngine/Shockforce
Full Thrust

There's actually a few other rulesets that I played once or twice this year, but didn't even list because I didn't like them enough to play again, and a couple that I sometimes play a few times a year and sometimes don't play for a year or more.

Also, some of the above use the same miniatures as one another, but that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who plays rulesets that aren't tied to a given miniatures line. I've got miniatures for...
40k
Generic Sci-Fi platoon gaming (Warband, platoon, and bigger)
Post Apoc, zombie and near future gaming
Sci-Fantasy battles. (Void, shockforce, etc)
Fantasy warbands
Fantasy mass battle (Kings of War, etc)
10mm Sci-Fi mass battle and mech games
Starship battles
... and they see use across a number of rulesets.

Currently, just one:
Warmahordes.

But I intend to get into:
Malifaux
Wargods of Aegyptus/Olympus
Warzone Resurrection
Wrath of Kings
Infinity

I'd be lying if I said I had no desire to play 40K, but really, I think six games is more than enough for now.

I am not really playing anything right now, with moving back and forth across the country and starting a new job. I am trying to paint then play as motivation now.

On my list to start playing more:
40k (probably smaller points though)
Blackwater Gulch
Dreadball

I also have:
Kings of War
Deadzone (coming of course)
Dreadfleet
Warmachine
Leviathans
Sedition Wars

Bolt action sounds interesting and I may branch out. Infinity and Malifaux don't interest me at all.

I play two right now, 40k and WHFB.

Used to play WM, Hordes, Malifaux, Infinity, Dark age, Rezolution, Urban War, Secrets of the Third Reich, Confrontation in addition.

Decided the madness had to stop. Haha! Particularly when most of those armies were seeing action once a year, in favor of 1 or 2 games getting played 99% of the time.

Note too, that each of those games i played at least 2 factions, in some cases 4+.

Now two games, two factions.... resisting the urge to get more, but ogres and many 40k armies are calling my name with their sweet, sweet siren song.

I'm the same - I collect a decent number of ranges. I have a good bit of:
Warhammer Fantasy
Freebooter's Fate
Super Dungeon Explore
And soon to have a sizeable Rivet Wars collection when that Kickstarter comes through.

I have a little bit of:
40K
WarmaHordes
Reaper
Misc + several tiny outstanding Kickstarters.
