And whembly look up the rule it wasn't textbook obstruction. But like I said it is what it is and the cardinals won that game fair and square. I'm not even trying to deny that at all.
Edit : and you've been in the other sports threads enough to know I won't and don't whine even if I think the team I root for was slighted. If a team is in a position for a singular play to determine it then they didn't deserve to win. Plain and simple.
No worries.
Lackey? What's the deal? o.O Wouldn't the closer be better here??
For some reason Farrell has a deathly fear of using Uehara for more than 4 outs. I'm frankly confused as heck why her use lackey their. But he has a precedent using starters in relief as he did it in 2004/2007 with Wakefield

I have no idea...
I'm okay with pitching to him when no one is on base... I'm also okay with walking him every time.
He's the series MVP so far for sure...
Waino is pitching tonight... I'm confident he'll hold Boston in check (despite game 1 ). I'm just concerned about our offence... and the, Lester is pitching... he's a lefty... that's the Card's kryptonite!
Yah no way someone as good as wainwright repeats game 1 I expect a repeat of every other game in the series. Close game till the end with the team who commits the critical error losing.
And yah Papi has to be MVP if the sox win. Dude is LOCKED in. It's crazy how good he gets at this time of year.
That's 2 exhilarating / heart-wrenching endings in a row, depending on which side you were rooting for (one for each).
And regarding last page, it was indeed "textbook" obstruction imo. Watch this video from 2:05 onwards from an excellent slow motion shot, showing the third baseman's feet going up in the air and blocking the runner from getting over him.
And on another note, could we have asked for a better World Series so far? There's drama and intrigue and it's about as even as possible.
We have 2 of the greatest post season hitters ever. One of which is possibly primed to become a babe Ruth like figure. Great pitching, great hitting(small ball and big boy shots), and my favorite team who I've unfortunately got tattoo'd on my body is in it!

Looks like the Cards is going to have their hands full on Wednesday... Boston fans are going to go ape gak to possibly seeing a WS victory at Fenway since, what... the 20's?
Haha, yah this whole season has been pretty unbelievable. I just found out today I have seats behind home plate on the left field side just inside the backing. 2nd row back.... My friends father is a season ticket holder and has to cancel because of a business thing. So me and my friend are going for game 6. And yes having been to a World Series game the last 2 times in Boston it is going to be absolute mayhem. I'm actually thinking about not going because of safety issues as I was less than a 1000 feet from that girl that got pepper balled and died in '04 after the Yankees series but that makes me feel old and lame.

Yah I'm so excited, except for 1 thing. I haven't been to a winning game in any sport since '07. So I'm a little nervous, but this Red Sox team fights so hard i don't think it'll matter it should still be awesome. This is the fifth time I've gotten these seats but first playoff game. I can't imagine how loud it's gonna be.
Gonna be interesting tonight. Wacha is pitching some ridiculous baseball right now (going for his 5th post season victory??!?) but I'm hoping the Red Sox can pull it out in 6. As a Reds fan, nothing makes me more sick to my stomach than the though of the Cards winning another one.
It'll be REALLY interesting to see how they pitch to Papi tonight. Personally, I wouldn't pitch to him at all were I the Cardinals. I think if there are any men on base, the chances of him getting a pitch to hit are about zero.

It's going to be a good game.
-Wacha is sick.
-Don't fething pitch to big Papi! IBB everytime.
-Do Cards and Reds have a hated rivalry? o.O I mean... we hate Cueto... but I don't get the sense that teams hate each other.

It's always been there since they're two of the oldest teams in baseball.
It got even worse since the brawl with Cueto.
I know the Cards get a lot of healthy boos in Cincy, moreso than any other team, and I know from watching the games on TV that Brandon Phillips has no love lost for him in St. Louis.
Then, there's this T-Shirt sold by Cincyshirts.com, which sorta highlights the overall feeling folks in Cincy have about the Cards:

Agreed! I can't wait... really hoping for a Game 7, since I'm not tied to either team, and what's better in sports than a World Series Game 7?
I'm somewhat close (45 minutes) to Battleground Plainville, and a bit further away from their Abington (1 hour) place, so... at one of those, eventually!
