The next project on the list is the Fire Raptor and 50 infantry. I'm going to try to get it assembled this week. No Thunderhawk in my future.

Nice army shot there If. Good to see everything thrown together.

What kind of infantry have you got lined up? Just bolter wielding grunts? Or a few specialist units?

Honestly, I don't remember the mix, but it's a large set of tactical, tactical support, and support marines. The nice thing about the arms, is that one set of arms supports everything from bolters, plasma guns, melta guns, heavy bolters, heavy flamers, while a slightly different set of arms supports the shoulder mounted weapons (missile launchers, heavy plasma cannon, multi-melta, and lascannon). I'll be able to do quite a bit of swapping out.

I picked up a wide assortment of the weapon packs, but passed on the rotor cannons and volkite weapons since they have cabling to back to the backpack.

Just checked my painting queue. Looks like 20 heavy weapons and 30 tactical/tactical support marines + 5 Grave Wardens

Next up in the painting queue. 50 basic infantry, 5 Grave Wardens, 2 Praetors, and another apothocary. Calas Typhon needs to be assembled as well as Fire Raptor (not pictured)

All in all, I have about 2700 points painted right now.

Squad of 5 Death Shroud terminators more or less done. Just waiting on some Silflor flowers to arrive at my LGS and I need to lay down some powders on their feet and on their back vents. So not totally done, but I got so excited to get to this point, I had to post.

That give me 4 complete squads now: Assault Marines, Recon Marines, Cataphractii Terminators, and the Death Shroud.

Next up may be a Land Raider or the rest of the bikes ... or the new Tyranids I just picked up ... or my new talon of Contemptors. Yikes!

I really love what you've done with these, great stuff.

I wish I could afford to get forgeworld stuff (I believe that's what this is?)

Keep it up!

Yes, for the most part the army is entirely Forgeworld. I have some plastic Rhinos and Landraiders I'll paint up in this scheme, but everything I've posted so far is Forgeworld. Given the expense, I've magnetized the hell out of everything to get the widest possible use out of them.

My Fire Raptor assembled. Gaps filled, some pieces left off to facilitate priming. Other than a major oopses, where I glued the back top on before sliding in the back hatch piece (hence the post asking for suggestions on how to separate super glued pieces), it was ok. I only snapped one piece because I bent a little too aggressively while trying to straighten a piece out. The hardest part was gluing all the resin together because you don't have the same kind of working time you do with plastic. Other than that, I had to do some minor trimming and sanding, but nothing was significantly warped.

Some really nice stuff happening in this thread. I really like the paint scheme for the jetbikes.

Subbed.

Next up, need to file off the aquilas and replace with brass etched legion markings, some additional gap filling/smoothing, then onto priming

Finished the cockpit and pilot details, Probably going to blue-tack the canopy in place for airbrushing the basecoat.

Fire Raptor is coming along nicely. Using MIG Brown Wash to highlight rivets and do the lining. Once I get the matte coat back on, I'll insert the turrets.

Time to put a fork into it and call it done. My Fire Raptor is complete. Probably a few things here and there to clean up, but it's time to move on. Mortarion demands infantry. Overall, a very pleasant project. Definitely one of the more challenging pieces I've done. Got to try our some new techniques, new tools & materials, and am overall happy with the results. If I ever had to build a second one, there are things I would do differently, but overall the model is nice and went together without too much difficulty. Comments and feedback, as always, are appreciated.

Fantastic! Nice paintjob. I like the weathering. Not too OTT.

That's the way I'm trying to do the whole army. Slightly weathered but not like they've been rolling in mud.

Nice Fire Raptor. Looks like what I'd expect a Death Guard vehicle to look like. Minimal frippery and all business.

One thing it might benefit from maybe would be a bit of green around the nose. Just to break up the mass of white. Maybe even some heat stress around the nose to represent some kind of hellish decent through atmo.
