Finished all the Windriders! FINALLY. I don't know why I decided to base an army around one of the oldest and ugliest models GW makes. I've also recently completed a couple weapon variants for the Guardian squad.

Squad 3:

The whole bunch:

Four Shining Spears--including an Exarch, a Wave Serpent, and an Autarch on Jetbike to go before I'm done with my 1000 point force.

After yet one more lengthy hiatus, I have returned to finish my Eldar army. First up, a Farseer --a model not used in my current list, but always good to have around. I've magnetized the bottoms of his feet so he can either fit on this base or ride in his simple jetbike conversion (which is waiting to get painted eventually). Unfortunately, this means he likes to get knocked over all the time; I have had to glue his fingers back on so many times they've gotten a little funky.

The back view:

Next up, I have almost finished painting my Wave Serpent. Then my Shining Spears and Autarch and the army is finished! Taking a few years to finish painting a 1000 point army isn't that slow, right?

Beautiful work, creamy blends. Nice.

The Guardian Defenders finally have their Wave Serpent:

Now I just need to finish the Farseer's jetbike and a squad of Shining Spears with an Autarch and my 1000 point army is complete.

I'm in the same boat you were. My GF pretty much thinks this is the dumbest hobby in the world LOL, but meh. I'm not going to stop and someday I'll be able to get out for some games.

It's been since the mid-late 90's for me and I'm rebuilding my armies from scratch (lost everything).

Unfortunately I've read all these great techniques that I didn't know before but now I'm having eye problems. Every time I try to focus on the detail, my eyes go out of focus.

In the past year I've managed to paint 2 squads of 10 blood claw space wolves. Definitely not anywhere near the quality of your skills though! Awesome job and your pics bring back a lot of fond memories of the games we (*edit* my friends and I) used to play. Good times!

Keep going! Regrettably, life may demand that we take a week, month, or year off, but age grants us patience and perseverance.

And thank you for the kind words. To fuel the nostalgia train, here is a squad of all metal Deathwing Terminators I painted when I was 14:

They were great in 2nd Edition and then man did they take a turn. I lost probably every 3rd edition game I played with my all-Deathwing army.
