Lorgar did write the Lectio Divinatus, which seems to have formed some, if not the majority of ecchlesiarcy beliefs.

Again, it seems that these widespread cults were very varied, having different enough beliefs to set off a large-scale contest of purging or absorbtion. Doesn't sound like they were reading from the same tome, so to speak. The 6E rulebook even seems to say this outright, it says that all of these cults were trying to "interpret the Emperor's will". Not the Lectio Divinatus, just what the Emperor wanted.

The Lectio Divinatus was circulated through the imperium in secret and his name was not on it.

Oh? Is this explicitly said? Because that would be odd, IMO. Pre-heresy, when he was still on the Emperor's side, why wouldn't he endorse the book? He certainly wasn't one to keep quiet about his beliefs, after all. In fact, it was his spreading of such beliefs that got him scolded in the first place, he was known as a preacher.

So, assuming he was upfront about it before, then his writings would indeed be "tained" after he turned traitor, and hardly approved of by the Inquisition. Also of note is that the leading guy behind the cult tghat eventually came out on top, Fatidicus, was actually a military commander who defended the Imperial Palace against the traitors. Surely, we would expect such a person to especially disapprove of Lorgar (and, by extension, anything he might've said)?

Again, not saying that some of Lorgar's writings couldn't have filtered into the Ecclesiarchy's beliefs, but it doesn't seem that his book single-handedly built it all. Rather, it seems to have been a very diverse range of independantly formed cults eventually amalgamating into one overarching entity (which nicely fits with the Ecclesiarchy's very loose and open policy when it comes to worship). I mean, why would Lorgar have some monopoly on faith? Ordinary citizens could quite easily develop that sort of mindset on their own.

It's fluffy, too. Keeping an eye out for heresy and corruption within the Imperium is one of the main jobs of the SoB, after all. It's actually pretty neat that we've got an in-built reason for the Sisters to fight other Imperial armies.

Except Grey Knights.

Oh wait, you have a reason to fight them as well.

Ha, well the Sisters don't actually know what went down during the Bloodtide, and I doubt that it's a regular thing for the GK.

A fight between those two would probably be the result of conflicting orders and a inability to back down. Or just a misunderstanding, like we see in Ben Counter's first GK novel.

Sure, and I was just going by studio fluff. The two can conflict sometimes, since 40K is pretty loose with enforcing canon.

Though, in this case, there's not necessarily a conflict. Unless the Horus Heresy books explicitly say something like "Lorgar's space bible started the whole Ecclesiarchy", the two can probably co-exist.

My secret fortress at the base of the volcano!

All my armies share the same nemesis: my complete and utter inability to paint an army in anything like a timely fashion.

On a more serious (SRS BIZNES!) note, my SM have both Dark Eldar, Orks, and Slaanesh-afiliated Chaos Marines as nemeses. This is due to: My two most frequent opponents being a player with a proto-DE army (this was in 2nd ed before DE were officially invented, but the fluff for his army was evil, fallen Eldar who did unspeakable things to orphans, so I calls 'em Dark Eldar) and a player with an Ork army. And the Slaanesh hate-on comes from my army fluff, as being descended from loyalist Emperor's Children, they kinda don't like their Chaos cousins (this was again in 2nd Edition, 20 years before Blood Ravens were a thing, or we found out exactly what happened to the loyalists from the Traitor Legions).

My IG never really had enough battles to get a hatred for any particular player (or army--- they lost to everyone equally), and my Thousand Sons have decided to keep hating Space Wolves until something cooler comes along.

Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)
