I've not touched 40k in a year but the thought of an army of four knights themed around the four horsemen is direly tempting.

About £80mil, although the price would shoot up as you started to buy. So, much more than that.

Nids too since they have no place on the allies matrix

on the forum. Obviously

Which I think is due to bad wording.

They should only ally with Imperial forces, because fluff wise, they serve the Imperium, and possibly chaos if they go rogue. Aliens should not have them.

GW must have forgotten to add that clause. Again.

This could actually be a viable army. If you do the math 6 knights is a lot cheaper then your normal sized SM or Guard army. Less time to assemble too. I need to start preparing my plans...

GW forgot to write down they were scoring, which one counts as warlord, and to give them an ally matrix.

Really I'm surprised this kind of quality didn't come in a $35 limited edition White Dwarf with a high quality plastic bag for transport and protection.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

hehehhehehe...

That's what the 40$ Codex: Imperial Knights and it's supplement are for...

No I'm serious.

So instead of fleshing out an army we already have (SoB), GW made a new army nobody was asking for. Do we really need ANOTHER Imperial army? Did anybody really want this?

Totally with you on the SoB thing but, in fairness, the Knights are a codex with only two units, and one model to make both of said units. I don't think that they were too much of a drain on resources.

the imperial knights are a new army.... but if they only have 2 variants, its gonna get boring. i would hope they put things like the various class of knight, and each class would slot into a force org section. provide some wargear for the hq and some diff guns for the others. nothing "titan sized" but having for example a troop knight with something like 4 heavy bolter main gun, and a lwin linjed missile on the other, with options for shoulder autocannons. - the heavy support guys get the battle cannon, or punisher cannon (anything mounted on a russ or landraider etc) and so on.

to me, fielding an army of knights SCREAMS of the chance for awsome custom and conversion potential, if only they had rules to support such work.

Since they have only just been released I'd assume there will be more to come and people should just be patient.

Why disappointed? You can just take Land Raiders in a Regular marine army then nothing under Str8 can hurt you. And 5 BA ASM in a dedicated LRR is about the same cost as a Knight Titan. Probably cheaper. And has better guns if I'm remembering their weapon load out correctly.

But those Landraiders don't have a doubleshot battle cannon, S D CC attacks, and can't claim objectives on their own.
