I liked what I saw. Plants vs Zombies is fun and I love wh40k. But I don't think I would pay more that $5 for it. Will wait for sale

I'm buying it.

I almost certainly will get 10 dollars worth of entertainment out of it. That's like a movie and a half.

Also, sales now encourages future products.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Future mediocre products. You can get the same amount of fun or more for free on Kongregate and play one of the zillion lame lane fighting games just like this one.

Second that. Never pay for things you can get for free. Especially if this is bound to bind production capacities that could have been used for something better. And especially if the product itself isn't good in the first place (which is just an assumption at this point but seriously, the graphics look worse than cellphone games i've seen on the Nokia N95 which is by now probably a decade old or something).

I do find it a bit odd that they chose two green coloured armies to fight against each other.

As the game seems to be designed to be playable on the old gameboy color of 1998, they need to save on colours on screen to stay below the 56 colours limit.

Totally inaccurate. Do not know if error or hyperbole.

"Our fantasy settings are grim and dark, but that is not a reflection of who we are or how we feel the real world should be. Orks look really meh, and gameplay seems way to repetitive and boring for a WH40K IP. Where is my next DoW dammit? DoW Elite mod can only satisfy my fix for so long!

Pass. With extreme prejudice!

Runnin up on ya.

It's up for early access on Steam for $9.99....looks lame as hell.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Never forget that Eutechnyx brought us the 'wondrous' Ride to hell: Retribution. Also Ninja Cats vs Samurai Dogs, which this is almost a direct clone of yet still manages to have less depth and a worse aesthetic.
Plus it's listed as a 'Beta' yet is being sold for full price on Steam and NOT under the early access program.

Only possibly worth it on tablet/mobile for toilet gaming; avoid like the plague.

TotalBiscuit, a rather awesome fellow, has a review of the game here.

His conclusion: Heresy.

I couldn't even watch all of that, the game looks awful! if it was 99p, I'd try it but for £9.99 and a rip off of an earlier game, which costs 99p, I'm staying well away!

You should. There are some great quotes at the end, the best one being:

Is no one else bothered by a green stromraven with dark angel markings? I mean they don;t use storm raven, and if they did they would be black like the rest of the air support.... totally bothered me more then it should.

Watching that video I was just floored. When rumours of this started coming out I was VERY interested. Now, not so much. It has Dark Angel Iconography all throughout but ... there was a STORM RAVEN in it ... with DA Icons on it! WTF?!? Do these people not do their homework? Did they not even bother to peruse a DA codex?

I attribute this failing to one of two things:

1: Laziness on the developers side to research.
or
2: GW telling them to just stick it in and not worry about the established fluff.

Either way ... I am walking away from it.

Now, we like big books. (And we cannot lie. You other readers can’t deny, a book flops open with an itty-bitty font, and a map that’s in your face, you get—sorry! Sorry!)

Marines eventually got the Storm Raven. I think the DA's will get it eventually. But really, that's a much of a muchness. The game's problems don't begin or end with Dark Angel Chibi-Hawks. There are more far reaching problems than just that.

I think the last part about how GW, a company that has, historically, been very protective about it's IP and licencing, is very disconcerting. He has a very good point about the license being dragged through the mud and that's fine if it's just a bad game, but when we have all of these games coming out on mobile devices it's diluting the IP horribly.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.
