I'm actually pretty interested in the movie, even if Cruise is in it. The only problem I have is that the power armor they put them in looks like crap and there's literally no protection built in, it's just an exoskeleton.

I would also like to thank all those crazy gamers with too much money to spend that buy hundreds of the same marine models, paint them different colours and pretend they are different armies. You are the heroes upon whose backs the future of GW sales is assured.

I liked the movie but took issue with the "noble samurai as a noble savage" nonsense. Samurai were the rulling elite for centuries and there was little noble about them. They just didn't like losing power.
Yeah, the whole conversation about the Indians/Native Americans was unnecessary. Trying to draw that parallel was odd to say the least, especially since Japan has a very comparable situation with the Ainu.

I'll see that and raise you Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta.

I think this actually reflects what is currently in development and extrapolates to a near-future setting. Look at some images of the army's HULC* suit, it's more for improving lifting ability then as a suit of armor.

But as an actor he is amazing. Have you ever seen Castaway?
I'm hoping you meant that as a joke... cause comparing Tom Cruise to Tom Hanks is hilarious.
Also, yeah, firmly in the hate tom cruise camp, don't like his acting and his "religion".
GAH, My bad. Sorry people that one was posted after a long night of no sleep and half a day of all work with a little questioning existence and paranoia thrown in.
