So yeah I suddenly saw this popping up as an youtube add and watched it.

I had a déja vú feeling with it so I went on my phone, to open my digital book folders. I found the book and comic of "All you need is kill". To my suprise I was right. It's allmost a complete copy of that book.
Due to the namechange I have absolutely no idea if it's actually related to the book.
Edit: Apperantly it is related, but they're just not telling it was bassed off the book

Comparrison:
Spoiler:

They kinda ruined the setting.
@Beast_gts: Well it doesn't say it on the website for me. Not in the trailers, nor anywhere I look.

They usually just throw you to this site though. http://www.edgeoftomorrowmovie.com/
And this one doesn't say anything about it. At least the posters and trailer link to this site instead of http://www.edgeoftomorrow-movie.com/synopsis

But in all honestly. It made me feel like this movie is rather gakky if you read the book.

It looks like it could be a half decent movie. Its a shame Tom Cruise is in it, else I'd want to see it.

My thoughts went something like this;

Power armor; awesome.

Big explosions; awesome.

Time travel; gimicky but could be cool.

Tom Cruise; it.

Curb stomping in the Eye of Terror!

Why all the hate for Cruise? Is it because of his Scientology whack-a-doos?

He's a solid actor imo.

I hate Ben Affleck's, Matt Damon's and Kevin Smith's politics... but, I fething love their films.

IMO, he was a solid actor. He's gotten a bit stale and his quality has dropped off in recent years.

Also, he's an absolute nutter, Scientology or not.

I wish someone would "rip-off" one of my books by buying the rights, making a movie and advertising the crap out of my book for me. I could use that kind of ripping off.

Dude's cray-cray, but he's a damn fine actor. Collateral was some awesome work, and even Valkyrie was good, despite all the protest around it.

I'll definitely see it.

He's short, can't act, can't play a tough guy yet keeps trying to, and yes his wackadoodleness just makes me picture the image of him jumping around on a couch on tv.

Does that work?

Confusing a persons personal life and their work is a pretty easy problem to resolve; one can enjoy Cruise's movies while thinking he has some issues.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

I'll agree that Cruise is a pretty solid actor. He was also really good in Minority Report.

I think the film looks good, and I had no idea it was based off a book. I'll have to check that out for sure.

I like Tom Cruise. I think he's a solid actor who takes a lot of chances in his work - not too many A-listers would have hung it all out there like he did in Rock of Ages. Additionally, he alternates his paycheck movies with some fairly decenct sci-fi movies.

No one mentioned his cameo in Tropic Thunder? That role changed my opinion of Tom Cruise. Dude can act his ass off.

Looking forward to this movie quite a bit.

I'm in the situation of a lot of people - I don't like him or his politics, but I can stand him as an actor and like a few of his films. Sci fi groundhog day looks like fun, so I'll watch it.

My fiancee is in the same boat as Frazzled - dislikes him, his politics and his acting. She also intensely dislikes the concept behind groundhog day (repeating until you get it right), so I guess I'll be seeing this one alone.

The Groundhog day would be boring for me if it weren't for the fact that supposedly he can change things, it's just that when he dies in some way, he starts it all over. So he and Emily Blunts character decide to start developing better ways of killing the aliens, while everyone else stays stagnant.

I'll give you that. His scenes utterly stole the show.

They sadly seem to have changed the entire layout of the story. They pretty much butchered it. The whole live, die, repeat thing feels like they've thrown it in 2 or 3 times and then just pasted action scenes. Pretty much whiped all the characters except for a few names. Plus they changed the area it takes place. Getting real tired of we gotta save the world... by world I mean 'Murica... becase feth the rest.

Tom Cruise looks a bit out of place in this.
