Depends on what this alleged revision will actually do. If it doesn't fix assault to be at least halfway decent I'll likely sell all my 40k stuff and get another hobby. Not really looking forward to another edition of biased shooty nonsense. I got into 40k because I thought beating face with ridiculous chainsaw weapons was awesome, and now that I know it's not even vaguely feasible to actually do that against many armies... meh.

I'd be happy do so if I though it was worth it.

If.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

For 90 % I will...but not happily. To soon. Also, I bought Escalation so it will be probably bunch of rules I already have.

Considering how GW functions, probably not. I'll hold enough interest to hear what people think and possibly purchase it but I largely play 40k only with friends so we'll likely just play with the flawed 40k game. At least for 2 more years.

If its just 6th with rehased rules nope (plus rumors point to PDF downloads of fixes). Ill get a small book in starter box via EBAY or buy box set. Ill buy the big book much much later (perhaps when 8-9-10 drop.

If its 7th with expansions* then yes. Just not day one. I never bought the expansions so it should be worth it.

I wouldn't even if I thought it was worth it in terms of being a complete ruleset. £45 was too much for 6th edition and I bought the soft-back instead. Cheaper and much handier to store, carry around and refer to.

I'll probably buy a digital or mini version depending on the price. Definitely don't plan on shelling out another $75 for a BRB when my 6th edition one still has the new book smell.

I'll be genuinely shocked if it isn't $99+. Every new edition has gone up in price and I think this one will be no different.

That and they are rumored to be getting rid of the mini book in the starter set to be replaced with an essentials only guide for the set.

So I can already guess they'd raise the price since more people are going to be forced into getting the brb due to lack of alternatives.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous

If it's actually 7, then maybe. Eventually. Maybe. If it's 6.5 (^th with Escalation and SHA) then no. I already have a 6th Ed rulebook, and don't play SHA or Escalation.

I'll probably check out Infinity properly.

I voted Maybe, because while Bacon-Pancakes sound divine, if this new edition is a good change I will by it, but if not I will say good by to 40k for at least another edition.

Going on the assumption that there will be no significant changes... maybe. I hope they come out with a paperback version, I would probably buy that to replace my Dark Vengeance rulebook. I would not buy a new giant hardcover - the little book is so much more handy.

If they get their act together and release a very nice digital version for Android, I would want to buy that. The current eBook format they use for Android is terrible.

It could be a number of different things, but I just can't see this being great. It's rumored that the book is going to be $100 now (I'm not falling prey to that $99.99 crap); I find it hard to believe that even die-hard 40k fans don't balk at the idea of paying a 33% price increase in a book that lasted only half of the time of any previous iterations.

That, coupled with the fact that it seems apparent that GW has no interest in doing anything with the rules other than just shifting horizontally in rules quality, and I honestly can't see this release being good at all.

What's most surprising to me is I just don't really care much anymore. I mean, still enough to post occasionally on the topic, but I don't watch these threads with anticipation of the next release like I have for the last few editions. I think GW is making a big mistake with this release. It will do what the Hobbit rulebook did to LOTR to (although to much lesser degree): kill interest in new customers right out of the gate, as well as in some longer term players. And the rest of the people still interested in playing will go on playing and talking about 40k, but the crowd will keep diminishing.

"Not with a bang" is about all I can think in regards to this. It's just my opinion, I know, but still.
