Why is it if you click the American Flag the costs are in Euros? Small parcel shipping prices arent bad, but you're screwed if you want to order a bunch

The flag is just to determine the website language.
As I've mentioned before I've added more currencies so you can view the prices in your native moneys (there are 3 to choose from).

I know the shipping is a bit on the pricey side but to be completely honest with you, other companies hide their shipping costs in their product price. I'd opted for cheaper products.
On top of that I absolutely make no money whatsoever on the shipping it all goes to the courier. The thing is cost can drop only where there is a certain amount of parcels sent every month, I'm at the beginning of my venture and I cannot guarantee that I make such an amount to the courier - so the answer is - the more you buy from me the cheaper the shipping will become.

Thanks for checking the site anyway - we will be expanding our range soon enough so please pop in form time to time.

Isn't it possible to, for example, team up with another manufacturer and combine your order volumes to cut a deal with a shipping provider? I have no idea how these things work, just throwing it out there

I saw on your website that you have a 10mm category. As an avid Dropzone Commander fan, I'm excited to see more companies trying to get into that market. As it is, there are only very few and prices are somewhat high because there's little competition.

As some input, some futuristic, but non-art deco buildings would be nice. Also some non-standard buildings such as stadiums, elevated roadways or such would be something not yet offered by any of the other 10mm MDF manufacturers.

I work for a company that audits shipping (IE fedex ups etc). We recently expanded into Europe. You need to create a shipping profile with one of the shippers available and then negotiate the contract. The reason companies "Hide" shipping costs, is because they are able to negotiate those prices out.

EDIT: just read more thoroughly I understand you now

We've got the prototype done - the flyer will be available in both versions (in one box you'll get both options for one model). There will be plastic sheet and acrylic windows available as an add-on (probably different colors as well).

News from the front - first sets of base overlays will soon be available for ordering in separate packs of 5 x 25mm, 2 x 40mm and 2 x 55mm.

Little teaser

Other patterns will become available soon.

We've also put to the test a corridor / self supporting bridge system that we will expand with new sections in due course.

That will become a fully fledged corridor system with all sorts of junctions, rooms and doors all modular and simple to rearrange.

The straight sections can support themselves to form a bridge and can be connected and disconnected at will (no glue needed) to span longer or shorter distances. We will be testing T-junctions and cross junctions to see if they can work as a self supporting bridges.

Some elements will also be available in acrylics.

Our beloved national Post has graced us with a new shipping options for foreign parcels - we will try to update our shipping costs within a week or so - it should cut the prices for packages up to 2 kilos in half.

Please stay tuned.

We have worked out the design for our corridor system / self-supporting bridge which now includes all that you need to make your own SCI-FI dungeon crawler type of game. That's not the end though as we will expand it with rooms and possibility to go vertically as well, stay tuned.

Also we would urge you to share our stuff if you really like it - it will help us to get more recognition which in turn will allow us to put out more stuff for you in the future.

Cheaper shipping worldwide is now in effect.

Packages up to 2 kg had been revised - they are treated as letters by the post so it might take a few days more to ship - in return some of the prices were cut almost in half.

Packages over 2 kg are treated as parcels - quicker shipping but also pricier.

You can check shipping prices on our website under 'Shipping' tab.

Enjoy.

Nice! When I start stocking my table I will have to get some of this!

Any plans to expand on the amount of base variants?

Just wanted to say I appreciate the bundles you do. The Hab bundle especially as they are likley things you would want several of.

Separately they come too £19.71 but the bundle deal is £16.89 a two quid saving for buying a few at once isn't a bad deal at all.

Have neither the cash or the space atm but when I have both I think I will put in an order. They look like they would go well with the micro art studio stuff too so you can get plenty of vareity on the table.

What other plans do you have for buildings?

Personally not a fan of the semi clear acrylic for the benches, would they be available in pure MDF? If not does the clear acrylic take paint well?

Great looking terrain.

I'm really impressed with the crab model, especially the military versions

The acrylic material is clear (like 98% or thereabouts) maybe it's not showing on the pictures properly. We're not considering making it in HDF only but I'm pretty sure you can paint over the acrylics (but why would you ;-)) as it is pretty much like any other plastic out there.

There will be a few new ones (small) coming for the street set range. I'll post a few pics soon. We will also expand on the HAB range adding bigger base buildings and adding some variations to the old range.

Thank you. Please give us a bit more time before it becomes available online.

I say semi clear because it's obviously coloured so not completely clear. The reason I would want to paint over it is translucent benches wouldn't really go with the look I want for my table. That's just a personal choice though.

Sounds good, especially the hab expansion. I like the hab concept a lot, the ability to make one big building or several small ones is a great idea.

I've been meaning to ask but wasn't sure it was worth a thread in P&M:

How well does hot glue work for holding MDF constructs together? I've been using regular white PVA glue, but for some structures it takes forever to dry and the buildings fall out of shape before it's done. Would hot glue / glue gun be better?

I really, really like the recent food stand. I need a protectotron to go inside it though...

I have not tried hot glue, but I expect it would be pretty poor.

I use wood glue and that works well. Bit of a slow dry as well, but good bond formed. And you can get it really easily at Home Depot or even some craft stores.

Hot glue is a pain and doesn't bond very well to both sides. It will usually bond to one side but cool too fast to bond to the other side, leaving a residue that can pull parts of the MDF off.

For MDF I tend to use wood glue. Put a glob onto a palette and use a brush to paint on a thin layer to what I am gluing. If the glue was too thick and seeps out, smooth with the brush or your finger. Then any excess can be sanded off fairly easily. Then clean the brush with water/paint thinner/alcohol.

It's a transportation company building / dice tower.
The elevator works, is open-able and fits both 25mm and 40mm figs.
Hopefully we will do a prototype next week.
