Chaos lord is awesome. The most popular and easy to use option is Nurgle bikerlord with nurgle spawns/bikers. Another great one is AOBF Khorne biker/jugger lord with khorne biers or unmarked spawns. Even jump-pack or terminator lord will work but it's harder to pull off than biker ones. Just play your lord more like cunning ork warbosses rather than no-brainer space marine chapter masters. Don't throw him at something a lord can't deal with and he'll totally mutilate other things. But if you're running a lord in a landraider, you should think: "Why ain't i running Typhus or Kharn instead?.."

However, it's hard to justify the usage of warp talons, possessed and mutilators. Other stuff ain't bad, really. Even 1000 sons have their merits in not very competitive games, though in most cases they're a waste compared to regular csm not telling about plague marines.

I've even tried out an insane combo with 20 slaanesh ccw marines with fnp icon and 2 meltas, slaanesh lord on a steed and *surprise* Fabius Bile. Fearless, Power-armored, FNP mad guyz that strike at ini 5 with s5. Outflanking with accute sences. They totally screwed an IG gunline in a game where i've tried them out, enduring enough firepower and demolishing a squadron of leman russes with pasknisher and killing some unlucky vets in the process. Not much was left of the squad eventually but they've served their purpose, allowing the rest of the army to close unharmed and do the clean-up. Oh, and they did horrible things to orkses.

About zerks and chosen.

They both can go in a landraider with decent effects. Zerks + Kharn are a good unit. Tired of all that invisible units nonscence? Kharn still hits them on a 2+ rerollable. Don't bother with chainaxes. They're a waste.

Chosen can be kitted for mellee also - just don't overinvest in them. A couple of LC or PF is enough for them to work. I've seen another option - 4 plazmagunz in a rhino. That's the same as 4 plazma equipped havocs in a rhino. But personally i prefer another combination:
I've tried out a unit of 9 slaanesh ccw marines with a sorc in a landraider and they worked good enough. But they had problems when a character got sniped out by a challenge and they had no mellee special weapons left in the squad. Chosen pay extra 40 pts for that combination but compared to the total cost of 600-640 pts that's not that much. AND they can get extra meltas and hidden fists. Sure, they loose on objective secured but most likely it won't matter.

Anywayz, you can always play chosen as regular marines in a rhino. They're basically just 22 pts more expensive than 10 regular bolter+ccw marines in this combination and get ld9 for the whole squad and 2 base attacks.

Hard to say something about helbrutes. Outside the dataslate i've had some limited sucksess with a plazma cannon + missile launcher helbrute.

I've had quite some success with deepstriking Obliterators (MoT) and a Chaos lord (MoT). They have such a small footprint that there is little risk in deepstriking them and they are real killy.

12k+ pts Chaos Marines, Heretic Guard and Daemons (The Scourged)
2k pts Tyranids (Hive Fleet Hornet)

Yeah I like Slaanesh bikers more than Nurgle the more I play them, I like the 4+ , 5+ more than the 4+ , T6

It maths out to them being more durable, and at max size squad it's actually cheaper.

3man melta bike squads are still better off with Nurgle, or just taking Raptors.

durability depends on what is hitting them, but I agree the slaneshi ones tend to have an edge. (T6 is much better against str4 than T5+FNP, while T5FNP is much better than T6 against Str8-9)

I also like the init5 you get. That + hammer of wrath can cripple a lot of things you might charge.

Overall with Veterans and the Long war and prevalence of Ini 4 Slaanesh for me at least has the edge when I'm deciding on Marks.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.
