I loved WotLK. Cata was mostly cool. I didn't do much raiding or anything but I enjoyed Cata for the awesome questing zones. MoP I basically sat out. Once I couldn't buy flying for follow-up characters I had zero inclination to play MoP thru again on foot. Plus I just couldn't get into the vibe of it. Didn't feel Warcraft enough for me.

I'm looking forward to the expansion. Hopefully it's better than MoP so I don't have to sideline WoW until the next expansion.

Seeing as flying is being completely disallowed in Draenor, you're gunna have to hope that the inclination to push more characters through it remains this time.

It's being disallowed at the moment. We'll see how it goes long term. I even understand the reasoning. The biggest problem with MoP was the actual content for me. I just wasn't into it. If I'm in Warlords then I'll probably level normally there

I am agreeing with the general consensus it seems so far in here, TBC was definatly my favourite. Dungeons were hard, raids were hard, questing was fun. Also flying mounts were new and doing those dailys to get a cool mount was something not everyone had to begin with.

It was an exciting game and when magisters terrace came out that dungeon in normal was harder than the previous heroics. MT in heroic seemed more serious than some raids.

Then WOTLK just made the game easymode, dumbed everything down and held your hand.

I really hope that WOD moves back to the "you need to think, and try very hard" to get anything done, as MoP was just, lame.

Hints that the Blizzard Developers might be clueless when it comes to your class -

Mistweaver monks (i.e. the healing spec) get Detonate Chi at level 64. It "blows up" any unused healing spheres laying around the battlefield, providing reduced AE healing to anyone within range. Except there's one problem. Mistweavers used to get the Healing Sphere ability at level 64, which would allow them to place healing spheres on the battlefield. With the 6.0.2 patch last week, that ability was removed. Mistweavers still get their Mastery ability at level 80 that generates healing spheres. But Detonate Chi is still a level 64 ability.

So in short, because of the 6.0.2 patch, Mistweaver monks get an ability that literally does absolutely nothing for 16 levels.

I've yet to see any comments from Blizzard acknowledging this.

5.2 was the best patch, no doubts about it. Lei Shen was amazing, as was ToT and IoT.

I've been playing (on and off) since vanilla and to me, WotLK was the best expansion.

Don't get me wrong, TBC was great too and it made lots of awesome changes to the game, but I couldn't get into the story as much as I did with WotLK. I also did far less raiding in TBC as compared to subsequent expansions.

Plus I thought the Northrend zones were some of the most stunning in the game and starting a Death Knight was awesome (it also was my first 80 and I used it to main tank for some time in my guild).

Considering how much of a fan of Chinese history, music and style I am, I was a bit shocked how quickly I feel out of love with Pandaria.. maybe it was hearing.. 'Slow Down' one two many times, or the whole daily quest slog.. but something turned me off on it and by the end.. I was struggling to lvl.

Hell, only managing to get additional alts up to 90 now thanks to Archaeology and pet battling.

Looking forward to Draenor mind... Garrisons especially, and hoping the new pvp place will be awesome.

I agree with you. There was just something epic about the whole WotLK story line and enviroment. Northrend felt huge and varied.

I guess I could have been jaded by my experiences, though. I did play mainly as a Retribution paladin, so I was useless in one patch, then ridiculously OP in the next, then useless again. Ridiculously OP was fun until you got mages complaining about them on the forums. You know there's a problem when even mages think something's a bit strong (or rather, you know you're doing something right at this point, but we can't have mages upset).

That OP patch was the final time I recall Retribution being a worthwhile spec. I wasn't around for classic, they were crap when I started TBC and through to WotLK's OP patch, then nerfed to the floor again and have since fluctuated between "absolute waste of space" and "sub-par; I'd rather have a balance druid/shadow priest". Although that last one's not really fair to shadow priests in the pre-patch; they've apparently gotten better (I'm not raiding with mine until WoD now, and the removal of JPs means I have no reason to do HCs, so I can't really gauge anything).

Ret Paladins are actually pretty good right now.

During WotLK Prot Paladins were damn near invinsible.

Yeah, that was my only sadness was when that patch came out changing the paladins whole system. I love my Prot/Ret pally. That patch made me level my hunter to play instead because I just couldn't get into the new system.

WotLK just felt epic. It fit the story line of WoW excellently. It was encountering a big bad that we'd played turning into that big bad. There was just something awesome about it.

I hope Warlords reignites the spark that I lost with MoP. The ability to play/interact with the characters I grew up playing with in WC2 is exciting me. Plus a garrison instead of a farm to upgrade seems awesome

They were a joke in vanilla. The only spec that was good was Holy. Early on I did figure out a good protection spec, and posted it online where it received some compliments, but Blizzard rearranged the Paladin talent tree in the next patch, and made that spec impossible to build. There was even a developer post at one point a few months before TBC was released where it was flat out stated that Paladins were only intended to be healers.

There was a time towards the end of TBC when Ret paladins received a massive upgrade in power and became ridiculously overpowered. Being on a PVP server at that time sucked hard because every douchebag Alliance paladin with that stupid Naruto haircut switched to Ret and I swear they roamed in packs across Quel'danas. God I hated that...

Finally got my first guaranteed heirloom from Garrosh...

...I forgot to change my DK's loot spec from Frost to Unholy, so the game leapt at the chance to give me the useless 1-hander instead of the 2-hander.

Useless for two reasons: 1) I loathe DW DKs and non-Titan's Grip Fury Warriors. 2) I need another weapon of around the same level to pair with it, something I currently lack.

I am taking down Mythic Garrosh on monday, getting a twohander as it'll simply be more useful than having one of your two weapons be a heirloom and 2H will of course be much better than DW at the start of the expansion.

Absolutely serious; I just prefer hitting stuff with a big weapon (or two in the case of TF Fury).

One other thing I'm annoyed with is Premade Groups: half of them outright lie in the group requirements. "Required Item Level: 525+*" (*We actually mean nobody under 540 but w/e LOL).

I have found a lot of use for the Premade Groups, but then, I have an item level of 578.

Mythic is super easy now so I don't see the big deal.

No wonder Mythic is super easy; all the idiots are filtered out by then.

I've spent all day jumping from group to group on my warrior, and we've all hit the same brick wall: Malkorak.

He's not like Nazgrim; one DPS running after Nazgrim on Defensive Stance won't spawn a raid-ending number of axes, but one missed Malk pool can wipe a raid. I ended up dragging a pathetic amount of damage in the Malk fights because I had to sit at range and plug the puddles that ranged DPS would stand next to or run away from. More than once I had to Heroic Leap over to one because people ran away from it.

The last fight took the biscuit, though. I asked before we started if anyone didn't know the fight. Silence. We start, we wipe, two people own up to not knowing and the other one or two I noticed didn't have a clue stayed quiet. I give an in-depth run down of the fight, everyone acknowledges what to do, no more questions. We fight, we wipe again. The group descends into name-calling and elitism, and there's no point any more.

All I want to do is get my sodding 2H heirloom, but all the Garrosh-only groups want 550+ iLevel, and all the others are fresh runs, stuck on Dark Shaman (another annoying fight that quickly becomes a clusterfeth), stuck on Galkaras (somehow), or stuck on Malk.
