I'll go back to GW when they have a good set of rules with reasonable prices for their products.... So never then!

The real sin in all this: our primary motivation to buy these taking into account our other options is???? (what????).
It is not quite the same as wanting the small rule-book (removed fluff) compared to a codex.
I am just trying to figure out a sales/marketing spin that works with this...

They are breacking up the ridiculously expensive sets of mini hardcovers that didn't sell, hoping they will sell this way.

That must be it, because it's missed the mark so badly from any other perspective. I was quite excited from the title, until I realised it was a half sized hardback with 15% discount on the bigger book. It's still as expensive as most of the core rulebooks I have on my shelf. I was hoping for a softback half sized book at about £15-20, where it'd be on par with other (bigger) supplements, and a reasonable price after discount. But I'm still not paying £22.50 for my codex.

All it serves is to make the bigger book look like good value.

So does that mean GW are still considering releasing cheaper codices in a softcover format, or was the rumor wrong and this is our "cheaper" option now?

Because combined with the softcover reprints of the End Times stuff that aren't significantly cheaper than the hardcovers were, I'm starting to think this is the best we're going to get. And that's kinda sad.

I just looked that up. Holyfuck it's $90CAD for the two soft back nagash books.

The hardcovers were what? $105?

Still it's nice that GW has moved to selling product that has lower production costs for less, they use to sell product with lower production costs for more.

Then why are you having a discussion with people you view are past discussion?

GW isn't going to change because people criticize their business strategy? Well guess what my friend, people aren't going to shut up because you don't like what they're saying.

Hate to use this phrase but... Deal with it.

A little bummed as these are the ones from the bundle. Would've gotten the Orks one if I could.

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.
