And here's some of the models I'm trying to get fixed before the 18th of april :
More MegaNobz - here with a simulation of their propaganda posters (alternative bliss poles):
An orkish "T34" (counts as a Trukk with a Rocket Launcher).
And some old school Rhinos who have been pressed into service as BMP-1's (count as trukks with rocket launchers) :
Here you can see that I always work with a very random and blotchy undercoat.
This adds to the effect
This time, something funny happened though :
In some places, the paint even flakes off till the bare plastic appears...
Never seen this happen before. Is it the spray can? the paint? the weather conditions? ...

I've seen this same effect when I apply the spray too close and too thick. The only solution I have for it is to strip it back to bare plastic and start over.

Your screamers are beautifully painted. I have no solution for your crackled paint, but it may have something to do with an oily residue sometimes present on model parts. I always soak old model kit parts in warm soapy water for an hour before I do anything with them just in case.

Thanks SJM, Warboss_Waaazag, Peredyne
Well, I tried painting over the models (and cracks) yesterday and...
there's no problem
The cracks are in fact just the paint which has somewhat stretched - i guess due to some low temperatures -
showing the black undercoat.
It doesn't entirely disappear, but it's nowhere near the mountain range it appears to be on the photo.
Phew...

@40kFSU: Thanks. And you're welcome
Been really busy to get my army finished for the tournament.
Decided it was time to also update / add more interest to some of the painted models in my collection.
But first some stuff that received some paint.
They still need finishing (powders, some touching up...), but I really like them.
I love the old rhinos and the T34. Guess I'll be making more...
If I find the necessary models
T34:
BMP-1 (Rhino):
Updating the old trukks:
headlights (no OSL), some more oxidation, orange, ...
still need some details to hide the missing headlights, etc.
Updating the look&feel of the boys...
This was somewhat the standard:
OK-ish from a distance, but could be better.
so I tried this style.
Hope you like, I know I do...
and started pimping the bombsquigs...

This is awesome! I love the Soviet look.
By the way, for those Trukks, the mud would be sprayed up over the panels behind the wheels in a sort of curve. I've seen it on our pickup.

Keep up the great work!

Phew, finally gotten back.
Sorry y'all for having to wait so long for a visit or an update.
Thanks for all the kind comments - much appreciated
So, a couple of weeks ago, I attended a little tournament (1,5k with around 30 attendants).
Mainly to great some old friends, but I couldn't resist giving the army a little overhaul and adding some new stuff to it.
Painting has proven to be quite a burden - my eyesight is vastly degrading it seems.
Sore eyes, an inability to focus for longer then 10 minutes, etc.
Apparantly, it's something I'll have to learn how to live with
But I DID get the army done, so without further ado:
the warboss & retinue
the warboss
meganobs
detail of transport's weapons
more meganobs
their ride
tankbustaz
a tankbusta (showing his updated paint scheme)
tankbusta ride (T-34)
closeup
Hope you like.
More to come

@ SJM - Thanks for the compliment ! Though it's hard to beat the stuff you're doing
No, the big guys don't fit in, so I've added some handholds/rails to the side.
Makes drive-by klaw attacks also more likely
Here's some more stuff I finally "finished" :
First : some Ork Cybork Bikers
They've had a little update - some more bluish lenses, some difference in the metals, a brighter skin, ...
Here's some regular Bikers :
I kinda like the quick winter themed scarf :
Then on to some basic (and "boring") stuff - trukkboyz !
these too received some variations in the metal, blue lenses where needed, brighter skin, etc.
also, finally picked a colour for the eyes
Also like the additional colour on the trucks
here's a "new" boy
and his previous incarnation
And finally added some artillery...
Lobbas !
with a Grot-painted "bear"
These boys started out as buggies with rockets, but I thought they would make fitting Katyusha's
Same goes for my leftover dread / kan.
I thought of using them as quad cannons, but now they serve as traktor kannon.
And to round of the artillery : kannons.
These are from Kromlech.
To finish this lengthy post some pictures of the krew.
Some got damaged in transit, so I'll need to do some touching up.
Still - Hope you like.

This has to be one of the coolest Ork armies around and it keeps growing

Your work is amazing. Full of creativity and a unique style. The thing I am most impressed with is your speed. You post new stuff so frequently, it is amazing. You get more done in a week than I do in a month!
I absolutely love the heavy weathering on the trukks and other vehicles.
Thanks for the great inspiration.

Ouch - been away a bit for too long.
Thanks guys for the comments.
@ The Riddle of Steel : well, the hummers started out as ... hummers.
I found a local model shop which sold these for €10/piece.
So I bought a regular one and two I.E.D. Gun Trucks.
(Would have loved three of these Gun Trucks, but he only had 2).
They're from Academy and I think they're great value for money (they even have rubber tyres)
http://www.academy.co.kr/eng/1p/1p_plaview.asp?pView=PLA0000003&pCode=527&pScale=SCALE00001
Hope this helps.
Another update coming soon.
Time to get an overview of the orky stuff that needs to be done and I've been putting on the back burner.
Hope that placing it here may help me get back into it...

Wow, has it been that long?
Well, the Orks have been put on the back burner for now.
Not that I haven't been busy with them - just nothing finished.
Took stock of the stuff I had lying around...
and, well, it's still a lot that needs finishing.
But I got sidetracked - helping a friend getting his daemon army painted and
finally persuaded myself that the Mechanicum (-cus?) has some really neat models.
Pics to come.
But here are some chaos-y pics for your entertainment.
Hope y'all like

Thank you, Lindstrom
Heres some new stuff I'm working on - only have 4 evenings to finish them...
The Box of Doom :
The Beast :
Refurbishing some "Meganobz" :
And some distractions I've gotten myself into...
Such as the start of a Grey Knight Force :
and the start of a Mechanicum War Convocation :
Quite happy with how the lens/vision-thing turned out on the bot.
I still need to add something fun to it. Maybe a "Mama"-tattoo?
The other bot I'm still pondering about. A chibi / pokémon / tamaguchi-"face" (in green) or something like an old computer game? Pong? Space Invaders?

I love the lens details on this bot. Adding a tiny little arcade game would be hilarious. Space Invaders would be great, or maybe Tetris?

Thanks for the kind words, guys
On a different note : I attended a tournament last weekend...
Here's the army :
My first opponent - a Wraith-heavy Cron army.
I killed em all (without loosing a single meganob), but lost on objectives as they kept me locked for 4 turns
:(
So : loosing 15 - 5
My second opponent played Blood Angels with Space Marine Bikers and a Librarium Conclave.
And Dante.
Probably the smallest and toughest army I ever played against.
Full of 2+ armour saves, 3+ invulnerables, rerolls, feel no pain, invisibility...
So I went all or nothing, charged him with my entire army, took quite some casualties...
and wiped him of the table in turn 3.
Woohoo : 20 - 0 win!
My final opponent : Necrons again.
Just look at the picture : how much more can you cram in a single building ?
It was a tough fight, but in the end I won.
14 - 6.
Great!
I ended up 6th overall (out of 20) and was quite pleased with that.
Untill the judge gave me a call, telling me something was in store for me...
I bagged the "Best Painted Award" and a hefty gift voucher !
