I picked orks because they looked cool and were in the Assault on Black Reach boxed set.

I've always played Tau because I like the fact they are the closest thing to the sane one in 40k, and because I prefer shooting in my science fiction. Close combat is for uncivilized barbarians. Oh, and the army was just being released for the first time when I started getting into 40k. I picked up the White Dwarf with all the informaiton on the Tau and the battle report where they kicked the salimander's butts. It was a cityfight game where the Tau had to hold a central fortified building against assault. The outcome was pretty obvious now but back then it made me think how awesome these Tau were who could hold out against the Space Marines (who were supposed to be super awesome better than you at everything).

Krieg! What a hole...

Kriegsmen looks pretty darn cool and cheap fixed artillery is pretty awesome, too. Oh and Grenadiers!

Scions because I like humans that are a match to most other standard enemies, elite humans are the gak, oh and they play extremely differently from the Korps.

Here's another question to go along with this one. Why/How did you get into Warhammer 40k????

Cheers, C66

It started with my parents getting me Hero Quest for Christmas when i was 9 in the box was a small Games Workshop catalogue with pictures of other games and a voucher you could send off for a starter set with paints a brush and a couple of models for £5 which i convinced my parents to get for me so i could paint the Hero Quest miniatures and in the set you got a Space Marine and a Space Ork to paint i liked the look of them and saw an advert for Warhammer 40k second edition in the box and asked for it for my birthday. My friends got into it too though at the time i moved onto Warhammer Fantasy and played that a lot more.

Imperial Guard: Am in the military and it has always appealed to me to be a regular soldier in 40k. The underdog mentality definitely plays a part in this as we have to take out all sorts of horrible and scary stuff with nothing but grit, blood and sacrifice.

Tau: Always love Mecha Anime like Gundam wing and always loved the ideas of Mechsuits. Why my Tau army is primarily only going to be Suits!

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.

Started with orks, love there rag tag appearance and been able to kit bash convert anything, back in 3rd we were able to have looted vehicles,

I still have the standard lem rus battle tank, the demolisher cannon version, 2 basilisks, 1 looted landraider, and 3 scratch built battlewagons out of landraiders etc. I love converting them..
I then moved onto the blood angels because I wanted some power armour and a change from the low armour/bs of orks but still like the close combat stuff, at this time I started thinking and building the BORG “using the Necron rules.
My first model was the Tyranid Ravener metal model converted with the old metal Necron Wraiths, I was going to use all different types of army’s for different units, like ork Gretchin mobs with the little Scarabs attached to their back ETC…. but soon realised that most of the necron codex would work with the tyranid codex and vis versa and so was born the NECR’O’NIDS . Which could be played as either nids or necrons,

I then moved on to starting my Chaos army as I had a lot of bits and I just love converting. I still build stuff for my orks I had soon many bits that I’ve started a GREEN DAYS AKA Grey Knights army .Check out my ork dreadknight in my gallery , And if I had the $$ , GW . I’d finish the necron nid army, the Triarch Stalker and Carnifexes are just screaming out to be done as well as the Harpies/Night Scythe, If I’d have to choose to keep one army only it would have to be my orks.

14,000pts ish
/ 2500pts ish

/marine 8500pts ish

I got into the game with Tau, that was purely based on looks. Flashy futuristic suits, nuff said.

Then I edged into orks. They have great fluff and feel. It might be because they don't take themselves to seriously. Just in it for a good fight. Plus the kustomization is awesome.

More recently I started Grey Knights, this was really just cause I had a huge ork horde and wanted the opposite. Small elite army, less models to carry and think about.

Down with Allies, Solo 2016!

I started SW when they were still cool. Then they had to jump the shark with the naming, TWC, santa, murderfang and the flying shipping container. Now I've started Eldar because they're top tier, look good and their fluff grabs me.
