I'm launching my own range of historical miniatures also, starting with a bunch of shieldmaidens. This is the first, a few will be at Salute at the weekend for pre release, then I just have to get a load cast up (running behind schedule!) for a proper release, there's three others being sculpted as well to fight alongside her. They fit in with all 28mm dark age models, with the point being that although they will be great characters, they fit in nicely dotted about with the dudes. She's sculpted by Phil Hynes and the insane brushwork is by Paul Cubbin.

Lathgertha is looking fantastic. Usually I would be concerned that the pose is a bit static, but it just adds to her look of determination and stoicism.

I like her! The painter did a lovely job, too.

Great job, Annie!

Good to see something positive and best wishes to your miniatures.

Schilling-Figuren has historical female miniatures, so you might want to look at their product line. I'll shoot the creator a message to contact you!

Seeing this range in person at Triples today was absolutely ace!
Thank you for the lovely conversation as well. It's great to hear that you've had such positive reception and making folks think harder about what's wanted from miniatures.

The shieldmaiden is ridiculously lovely in person. I don't think the photos do her justice, and I mean that politely.

Absolutely putting an order in when I'm less financially crippled (after buying a pot of paint I was actually done for the day). I know I don't need to justify myself, but I felt very bad.

Very cool will be ordering when you have some of her and her friends in stock

Any chance of doing some female Sycthians? - am looking for some and can't find any good ones.
