Dogs hands down. They're not only the perfect animal companion for humans, but they're also a utility animal in that they serve as security system thanks to barking. I love cats, lizards, and fish, but Dogs are first and foremost the best pet to have. Other animals may be "fun" or a nice curiosity, but give a dog love and care and it will be willing to sell its life to protect you. While some cats save their owners lives on occasion, I can depend on a dog to try its best to help me. We didn't spend several thousand years breeding canines for nothing.

Nice pic of the Chinese Crested, especially the drool.

That was after the Doc amputated the jaw portion that was destroyed. At that point she has a metal pin stabilizing what was left and a bunch of stitches. Still on meds and could not control the drooling at all.

She has adapted pretty well, but looks 'interesting'.

I swear that Chinese Crested dogs have like a requirement for something like that. I've yet to meet one that didn't have some odd health condition or injury that made it even uglier, in a "cute but icky" sort of way.

My problem is dogs die so often. Minturn horses live like 25.
