I would very much prefer this over a standard Drop Pod, which feels much like a copy paste from the SM codex, which is a bit unfun. Maybe let any unit take this, and let sorcerers take an upgrade that lets them prevent scatter within a certain range from units arriving with said wargear. (The Sorcerers opens the directs the rift to where it needs to be). This would make it different from both SM and DE.

Personally I like the idea of trying to differentiate CSM as much as possible from C:SM. IA13 has some nice things going for it, for example "Fueled by Hatred" on the Achilles is a very fun replacement for PotMS.

I would like to see possessed getting more predictable, or pay less for their random table, maybe GW could learn from FW and the Gal Vorbak.

If eldar gets op cheesy scat bikers then I think it is only fair if Basic chaos marines can each take a special or heavy weapon. So if there are 10 marines then 9 can take autocannons because one is a champion of worthlessness. Since they are basic CSM, they can buy a rhino or go 20 men strong and have 19 missile launchers. And you can take 6 slots of them!

Oh but is that too imbalanced? Look at scat bikes! 27pts and you have a mobile marine with a gun that shoots 4 str 6 lasers at 36"!

imagine a rhino full of 10 marjnes and 9 flamers! They move flat out and by turn 2 they can disembark and toast a horde and when they get charged, they roll 9 d3 auto hits.

Imagine a rhino full of 9 melta guns driving up to a titan and being able to remove 6 hull points!

Hell give Chaos Marines Combi flamer/melta/ plasma 5 ppm! A rhino with 10 will have 9 of these 1 time use guns to be the most flexible and cost effective unit in the game. 13pt marine given a 5pt combi gun is just 18pts and has a 1 shot melta or plasma gun.

Now things get real good with heavy guns that only cost 10pts. Heavy bolters for hordes and autocannons to shoot fmc and mc. Personally i would get 5 lascannons in a squad of 10 so i would have 5 bullet catchers.

Here are my two cents as a long time chaos player.

I don't think the Army is unfixable. I just think it needs about two editions of the same treatment everyone else got. No. I don't want anymore daemon machine monster. No. I don't want a fun little bag of tricks that the other armies are getting. I want an excuse to put down a boatload of marines and shred everyone's cheesy armies. The vet's should play like hard hitting SOBs, and the regular marines should have some sort of combat incentive. The possessed shouldn't change every turn and every way to load them out shouldn't be a new unit. Just give them some options to make them versatile that you don't get from giving them one mark or the other.

It's not about axing units or adding new ones. It's just about making all the extras seem more than superfluous.
