To be fair, "Nids" is in the title.

Its hard to be awesome, when your playing with little plastic men.
Welcome to Fantasy 40k

If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.

Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

It was wishful thinking right from the OP.

If you follow the N&R section, then you know that this month is AoS focused, and Feb is highly rumored to be Space Puppies.

'Nids won't be until the end of Feb/early march by the earliest, though now we also have decently solid rumors for a new combined Ad Mech codex, so it's probably a safe bet to expect 'Nids by April at the earliest.

CHances of the rumored Space Wolf release to be similar to that of the tau? Antagonists being the Thousandsons tzeentch? Campaign warzone follows through until summer release of sons?

or am I on a different plane of existence?

In my fairly brief time viewing Dakka, I don't think I've seen a Tyranid rumor thread not become hijacked (by either CSM or SoB fans). Has anyone remotely in the know (SP, LadyAtia) said anything to give us Nid players hope?

Yakface sums it up best.

That sounds entirely plausible. Especially if the 40k Chaos release really is just a Rubric kit.

As in this digital only release?

This eBook collection contains three eBooks in a zip file, each adding a different facet to the forces of the Hive Mind. The titles included are:

Codex: Tyranids – Your primary guide to the Tyranids and their forces, including a complete army list for using them on the tabletop

Leviathan Rising: The Collection – The Satys system falls under the shadow of Hive Fleet Leviathan... includes new formations to use in a Tyranid army

Shield of Baal: Leviathan – The Tyranids invade the Cryptus system, and the Imperium stands against them. Includes a new Hive Fleet Leviathan detachment, new datasheets and new formations

That seems to fit the bill in line with what I was told. Be interesting to see if it does contain any "bonus" content such as new formations, which would be a very GW thing to do; provide exclusive content in a form that ensures most people have to buy a duplicate copy of what they already have if they want the new content.

If that is indeed it, then at least he was right (seemingly anyway) on 2 out of the 3 things he said, though with both of those releases coming in to the public domain only a couple of weeks after our conversation, I guess that's not too much of a surprise, though that does at least indicate a move away from GW's recent policy of keeping everything secret from everyone until the day of release.

GW's teased their next release 1 week in advance for at least the past few years. It stands to reason that they'd do something like whisper it into the ear of someone even prior to that.

As for chaos, well...

Chaos is inevitable.

The aether has been extremely quiet, the warp has been still lately - as if the Chaos Gods have realised that GW doesn't care. Some say they've gone on a long term hiatus and have gone to an alternative universe where balance is a real part of game design, others say the God's have vanished altogether.

Thousand Sons: 3850pts / Space Marines Deathwatch 5000pts / Dark Eldar Webway Corsairs 2000pts / Scrapheap Challenged Orks 1500pts / Black Death 1500pts

Saga: (Vikings, Normans, Anglo Danes, Irish, Scots, Late Romans, Huns and Anglo Saxons), Lion Rampant, Ronin: (Bushi x2, Sohei), Frostgrave: (Enchanter, Thaumaturge, Illusionist)
