- TS used all of the marks. they had a decent number of MK IV since horus was trying to bribe them much like he was doing with the blood angels.

- Kind of. HH used 6th edition rules for the most part, so IIRC you can have 1 CAD, and 1 allied detachement. Don't forget that with the right wargear/console you can take thallax/castellax in a legion list.

- I love my Auxilia though the price is a bit extremely high.

I love the Mk III (Mainly because I'm OCD and don't like the mix matchy MkIV

Is it Shattered Legions or Black Shields that are the Loyalists that went Traitor? I'm tempted to do an IW/TS kind of army. I like the thought of an army that has Marines, Auxillia, and Mechanicum

Cheap points wise or money wise?

<Dynasty> ~10500pts
War Coven of the Coruscating Gaze ~3000pts
Thrice-Damned Plague Corps ~3250pts
Admech (TBN) ~3500pts +30k Bots and Ulator

You can play Blackshields and Shattered Legions as Traitors or Loyalists.

shattered legions are legions that were working together, got hit hard, and did a 'temporary merger'
black shields are marines that decided: Screw you guys, we're out and either are: 1) loyalists turned traitor, 2) traitor turned loyalists, or 3) marines turned into space pirates

That's a neat idea, and kinda like what I'm doing (a crusade fleet)

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Ok, so Black Shields then, the Space Pirates thing fits perfectly for what I'm doing

War Coven of the Coruscating Gaze ~3000pts
Thrice-Damned Plague Corps ~3250pts
Admech (TBN) ~3500pts +30k Bots and Ulator

I love my Auxilia though the price is a bit extremely high.

Also - you can always use Vostroyans as perfectly acceptable auxilia or militia; they were based off the original "imperial army" artwork, after all.

I have a few questions

-What mark was most common among the TS?

-Could I have an AoD with SM, an AD of Mechanicum, AND an AD of Solar auxilia?

What do people recommend for starting Auxilia?

- Dunno! I don't think their armour marks are mentioned much in A Thousand Sons, and that's the only source of information at the moment. We know they had cool helmets, though.
- You can only have one Allied Detachment in AoD games. Only one. But the odd robot unit can be included in the Astartes primary detachment by judicious use of a Legion Praevian consul...
- Solar Auxilia? TONS OF GUYS. And tanks. Lovely lovely tanks.
